According to data released by the China Passenger Car Association, in December 2024, the wholesale sales of passenger car manufacturers nationwide reached 3.075 million units, a year-on-year increase of 12.3% and a month-on-month increase of 4.5%, setting a new monthly record. Among them, the wholesale sales of new energy passenger cars reached 1.512 million units, a year-on-year increase of 35.6% and a month-on-month increase of 5.0%. The wholesale penetration rate is 49.2%.

In December, there were 36 passenger car models with wholesale sales exceeding 20,000 units, among which new energy vehicles occupied the top 6 positions in overall passenger car sales.

BYD Song topped the list with 124,868 units, twice as many as the second-place Tesla Model Y (61,984 units).

In addition, BYD Seagull, Wuling Hongguang MINI, BYD Qin L, BYD Qin, Tiggo 8, BYD Haiba 06, BYD Han and Tiggo 7 entered the top 8, and their monthly sales exceeded 30,000 units.
