Last night, Apple quietly released the cheap version of iMac. Although the configuration is a bit low, the price of 7988 yuan is much lower than the previous lowest price of 9688 yuan, which is perfect for office users. In terms of specific configuration, the size of the cheap version of iMac is 21.5 inches, the screen resolution is 1080p, and it uses an Intel dual-core Core i5 processor with a main frequency of 1.5GHz and a dynamic acceleration of up to 2.7GHz. It has built-in 8GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive (optional 1TB mechanical hard drive, 1TB hybrid hard drive or 256GB solid-state drive), and the graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 5000 (no independent graphics card). What is different from the past is that the memory of the cheap version of iMac is only 8GB to choose from, and there are no more options, because it is directly welded on the motherboard and does not provide traditional memory slots. Foreign media also confirmed this news after disassembling the cheap version of iMac. The memory of the cheap version of iMac cannot be replaced. In fact, Apple also generously admitted this on its official website, clearly marking that the memory of the cheap version of iMac is integrated on the motherboard, which means that you can't change it. In comparison, the current 21.5-inch standard version of the iMac provides two memory slots, and can be equipped with up to 16GB of memory, but it is very troublesome to replace, and the screen needs to be removed first, which is difficult for ordinary people to do, so it is best to go all the way and directly choose the high-end version when purchasing. The situation of the 27-inch version is better, and the back panel can be freely removed and the memory can be replaced. In fact, it doesn’t matter whether the memory can be replaced or not, anyway, 8GB is enough.
