Four reasons why Android users are not interested in iPhone 13, all of which are pain points

SellCell launched a survey on iPhone 13 purchasing intention, mainly targeting Android users. The survey results showed that 81.7% of Android users are not interested in iPhone 13.

It is obvious that Snapdragon 888 is at least two generations behind A15, and its performance is comparable to A13. Why are Android users generally not interested in iPhone 13? I have observed many people's views on iPhone 13, which can be summarized into 4 reasons.

1. Does not support fingerprint recognition or mask unlocking

This has disappointed many people. Judging from the feedback from the first users, the iPhone 13 does not support direct unlocking while wearing a mask under the current system firmware, and you still need to enter a password when going out - unless you have an Apple Watch, you can unlock it with a mask, which makes the cost of use too high.

Android phones generally use dual unlocking solutions, which are more adaptable to different environments. Flagship phones use 2D face recognition + under-screen fingerprint recognition, which can be easily used in any environment. The same is true for thousand-yuan phones, except that they use side fingerprint recognition.

2. Fast charging lags behind, causing battery anxiety

The charging power of the iPhone 13 series has only been increased to about 25W, which is very close to the previous generation. As flagships priced above 5,000 yuan, Android phones basically start with 65W fast charging, and 100W is not uncommon. Compared with competing products, the 25W fast charging of the iPhone 13 is particularly eye-catching.

Many modern people have "battery anxiety", and Apple's lagging fast charging speed has discouraged many people who don't understand Apple. But to be honest, although the iPhone 13 is not fast charging, the improvement in battery life is still great.

According to the test by foreign media Mrwhosetheboss, when running the same project, the iPhone 11 had only 6% battery left after 4 hours, the iPhone 12 had only 37% battery left, and the iPhone 13 mini had 47% battery left! The 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini has better battery life than the 6.1-inch iPhone 12.

3. iOS system has too many restrictions

Different people have different tastes. The iOS system that Apple fans praise to the sky may be a tasteless existence for some people. The closed-loop ecosystem of iOS improves the user experience of APP, but it also brings too many restrictions.

Many people may not know that dual-app opening is, to some extent, a necessity for professionals. For example, some sales and business positions need to open WeChat dual apps, one for life and one for work. However, the iOS system does not support dual-app opening of WeChat, and there is no perfect third-party tool.

Motherboard-level repairs are even more daunting, with the official recommended price being 3,299 yuan, but it will be analyzed based on the specific situation. Battery replacement costs are the same as in previous years, also 519 yuan.

4. High maintenance costs

At present, Apple has officially announced the repair pricing for the iPhone 13 series, and the price is still scary. Taking the most mainstream iPhone 13 as an example, if you don’t buy AC+ and accidentally break the screen, the repair fee is 2,149 yuan, which is almost 35% of the price of a new phone.

Motherboard-level repairs are even more daunting, with the official recommended price being 3,299 yuan, but it will be analyzed based on the specific situation. Battery replacement costs are the same as in previous years, also 519 yuan.

In comparison, the screen repair price of Xiaomi 11 is 1,470 yuan, and the battery repair cost is 99 yuan. Except for the motherboard, which is a bit expensive, other components are priced separately, usually around a few dozen yuan.

The repair prices of domestic Android phones are basically within the acceptable range for consumers and are not too outrageous. However, the iPhone 13 is too "delicate". Not only is it expensive, but the repair cost is also expensive. You have to be very careful when using it, for fear that it will accidentally fall one day.

In short, the above 4 points are the reasons why Android users are not interested in iPhone 13. Each one is more real than the other, and they are all pain points. It can only be said that Apple is an international brand after all, and it is not as "down-to-earth" as domestic mobile phone brands.
