WeChat passed the first batch of aging-friendly and barrier-free level assessments, benefiting 260 million Chinese people

The results of the seventh national census show that the number of people aged 60 and above in my country is 264.02 million, accounting for 18.7%. In the digital age, technological innovation has endowed people with a convenient digital life, but it has also inadvertently built a digital wall for the elders.

How can we let the elders enjoy the benefits of the digital age just like the young people? In this regard, many websites and apps have started to develop services suitable for the elderly.

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “Special Action for Internet Application Adaptation for the Elderly and Accessible Transformation” announced the first batch of more than 200 websites and apps that passed the elderly-adaptation and accessibility level assessment.

Among them, after continuous transformation and continuous optimization of product experience, WeChat and WeChat Pay (built into the WeChat APP) were the first to pass the evaluation.

WeChat said that in the future, WeChat will continue to provide more comprehensive, caring and direct convenient services for the elderly.

In WeChat version 8.0.14 released in September last year, WeChat launched the "Care Mode" . When it is turned on, the text is larger and clearer, the colors are stronger, and the buttons are also larger.
