Recently, YouTube blogger iAppleBytes tested the battery life of different models after upgrading to iOS 15.4. The models selected this time include several newer models of iPhone 13/12/11, as well as several older models of iPhone 6S/7/8/XR, iPhone SE 1/2. All models were upgraded to iOS 15.4, and the battery life results were compared with those of the previous version.

The test results show that the battery life of iPhone 13 is 8 hours and 26 minutes, which is 8 minutes less than iOS 15.3.1. The battery life of iPhone 12 is 6 hours and 34 minutes, which is 22 minutes less than the old version. The battery life of iPhone 11 has not changed much before and after the update, and it is believed to be maintained at around 5 hours and 11 minutes.

However, the battery life of the old models such as iPhone 6S/7/8 has increased by 20-30 minutes after updating to iOS 15.4, and the battery life of iPhone SE2 has increased by more than 30 minutes, which is quite surprising. Compared with iOS 15.3.1, the new version has significantly improved the battery life of old models. It seems that Apple really loves old users.

However, the battery life reduction of several new models is not obvious, and the cases of blood loss should be only a few. Apple's official support account also responded to this issue on Twitter, saying that within 48 hours after the new system is updated, applications and some functions may be adjusted, and it is normal for the phone to heat up or have a shorter battery life. Of course, everyone uses the phone differently, and the specific reduction time is also different. If it is really much worse than the previous version, you can go to after-sales service for inspection and repair.

Apple closed the verification channel for iOS 15.3.1 on the 23rd. There is no way to downgrade. Everyone can only wait for the next version update. I hope Apple can solve these problems. iOS has had bugs more than once or twice. It is recommended that you wait and see for a day or two before updating to make sure there are no problems before upgrading. Some old models should not be updated as much as possible.
