Let's get back to the topic. In November 2017, we started the SEO work for www.yunmajp.com (the website just turned two years old as of March 6, 2018). The weighting ranged from 0-2. Most of the main business keywords were already on the homepage, with 3-5 ranking first. The picture is used as evidence. The fundamental purpose of SEO is to attract traffic and then achieve conversion. If a page does not conform to the user’s search habits and the corresponding landing page, what’s the use of having a high ranking and increased weight? It’s futile. You can’t just look at the data and think about it yourself). The first month: the most basic setting of website parameters (TDK) and continuous update of articles. Even so, I still start from the beginning and don't miss any process. Among the keywords, the word "yearbook" has the highest index, so I started from there. I won't go into details about the settings of TDK, website keyword layout and density control. I also followed a lot of tutorials on the Internet. Articles continued to be published, but at that time I didn’t notice or think about it. Some of Baidu’s new algorithms caused the article titles to have too much keyword stacking. But after a month, there is no effect. The weight barely reaches 1. Second month: Modify some website details that affect visitor experience and add friendly links. I also sought guidance from people everywhere, but different people had different opinions, and I only understood half of what I heard. However, as I studied more, I clearly knew some directions to work on in the second month: rectifying some details of the website + building friendly links and external links. The structural foundation of the website itself is pretty good, but some details have not been noticed, such as the lack of breadcrumb navigation on column pages and inner pages, the font color, size and line spacing affecting reading, the writing of article titles, adding "nofollow" tags to columns such as "Contact Us" that do not help with keyword rankings, adding corresponding text descriptions to each column of the website (for appearing in snapshots to increase search matching), modification and addition of H tags (the home page, column page, and detail page have all been changed), etc. If you are also facing the problem of modifying your website and don’t know where to start, you can refer to these aspects. Adding friendly links : After Baidu’s various algorithms and controls on external links (all said to have weakened the importance of external links), friendly links from related industries have become very necessary. When it comes to adding friend links, there are a few practical tips to tell you: ① If the weights displayed on the third-party platform are equivalent and the industry is appropriate, please be sure to check the "keyword library". Some SEO workers, when adding friendly links for clients, will brush the Baidu Index for brand words in order to obtain higher friendly link support, thereby increasing the estimated traffic and weight in the data, but the actual industry keyword ranking is very poor. You must click in to see if the index and weight are refreshed. ② If you come across a suitable friendly link, you can use the webmaster tools to view its friendly links. The friendly links added by high-quality sites are mostly in related industries. You can also try to exchange friendly links with these websites. ③ Some sites worry about losing visitors, so they deliberately lighten the color of the font of the friendly links. It is recommended not to do this. Baidu will think that it affects the visitor experience and will hit it to some extent. ④ Don’t add all the friendly links on the homepage. Usually the homepage is an aggregate display of the website’s various businesses. When visitors browse, they may not be able to see the content they need at once. If appropriate, assign the friendly links to the column page or even the detail page. The third month: add columns to adjust internal links + build external links + continuously update original articles. After completing the above two months of work, the website weight has risen to 2, but it has occasionally declined, and the rankings of some keywords are not very stable. So after much thought, I decided to add some columns. The original website was a case display site, mainly composed of pictures, which was to some extent not conducive to spider crawling. Therefore, an article column and an information column corresponding to the picture column were added, and they called each other, that is, the cases called the knowledge articles, and the articles also called the related cases. And avoid repeated calls through code control. I won’t say much about the anchor text link of the article details page. Basically, original articles are updated every day, all written by myself. However, one thing must be known: original articles are not necessarily high-quality articles. Moreover, if the website has too many keywords, the number of posts must also be increased accordingly. This will dilute the density of the main keywords and cause an unbalanced layout. So now I am also appropriately controlling the frequency of posting. After the weight basically stabilized at 2, it did not show a strong upward trend and there were occasional declines. So I thought of adding some external links, such as this article, which is posted for the purpose of external links. To sum up, my understanding of SEO has made me feel more and more the importance of original and high-quality articles. After the basic work of the website (code modification, structural adjustment), even if the quality of friendly links and external links is very high, as search engines increasingly focus on visitor experience, original and high-quality articles are the most important. Readers can find the useful knowledge they need, which is more important than anything else. During the entire SEO practice process, no black hat methods were used, such as purchasing links, keyword mutual clicks, etc., and it is also recommended to avoid them. In addition, the weight value provided by the third-party platform is not necessarily related to the conversion of website traffic. The essence of SEO is to truly put yourself in the shoes of visitors, provide high-quality content, enhance trust, and increase conversions. |
