However, according to the latest news, in order to further lower the price of the entry-level version, Mercedes-Benz may replace the starting model of the C-Class with a turbocharged engine with a displacement of only 1.3 liters.

The source of this news comes from the Beijing Benz Engine Factory, which will produce a new generation of 1.3T four-cylinder turbocharged engines. You should know that the current C180L series models are equipped with 1.6T turbocharged engines with a maximum power of only 156 horsepower. The future 1.3T engine may only meet the needs of making the car move.

In addition, the tenth-generation Honda Civic, a popular compact sedan, uses the 1.5T engine as its main model. The future new Mercedes-Benz C-Class may find it difficult to match these powerful low-priced small cars in terms of acceleration performance and sportiness.

But after replacing the engine with a small displacement, from the consumer's perspective, the biggest benefit is that the corresponding tax rate will be reduced from 5% to 3%, which is expected to further lower the price of the entry-level version.
