Today, Tesla officially released its long-awaited first all-electric truck, Tesla Semi, in the United States. Although this product has been repeatedly exposed and delayed before, when we saw its true face today, the entire industry has set a new benchmark.

Tesla Semi is a Class 8 truck that can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (97 kilometers per hour) in just 5 seconds, and has a maximum towing load of 80,000 pounds (36 tons). Under this load, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 20 seconds. Tesla Semi can reach a speed of 65 miles per hour (105 kilometers per hour), while ordinary diesel vehicles can only reach 45 miles (72 kilometers).

Tesla Semi can travel 500 miles (about 805 kilometers) on a single charge, and consumes less than 2kWh of electricity per mile. Tesla officials said that under the same road conditions and load conditions, Semi can save more than $200,000 worth of fuel (within two years).

The charging efficiency of Tesla Semi is even more amazing. According to official introduction, Tesla Semi can achieve a range of 400 miles (about 645 kilometers) after charging in 30 minutes, and can be easily charged during loading or unloading.

Tesla Semi has a strong sci-fi look, with an integrated front, a large front windshield, and dual LED headlights. The driver can stand completely in the cab, and will be in the center of the cab when driving. If there are passengers, Tesla Semi also prepares a removable folding seat behind the driver for the passengers.

Trucks have always been a high-incidence vehicle type for safety accidents, so Tesla has also made great efforts in the safety performance of Semi. Tesla said that Semi is the safest truck ever. The enhanced autonomous driving system (including automatic emergency braking, automatic lane keeping, and forward collision warning) can greatly reduce the probability of collision. The central driving seat design can help the driver get the best view and control. In addition, the low center of gravity design can effectively prevent the truck from rolling over.

Tesla Semi will be put into mass production in 2019, with a pre-order price of $5,000. It has passed the 1 million-mile road test. The price has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be between $200,000 and $250,000.

In addition to this high-tech truck, Tesla also released its new Roadster electric sports car.

The new four-seater Roadster is even more powerful, equipped with a 200 kWh battery, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers in just 1.9 seconds. The top speed is 250 miles per hour (about 402.3 kilometers per hour), and the range can reach 620 miles (about 997.79 kilometers). According to Musk, this is "the first production model to run in 8.9 seconds in the quarter mile."

The new Roadster electric sports car will be mass-produced in 2020, with a price of $200,000, or about RMB 1,325,400. Currently, the Roadster is available for pre-order, with a payment of $50,000, and the balance will be paid in the future depending on the configuration.
