Recently, a media outlet suddenly revealed that Xiaomi and BYD are building a soft-top convertible electric car, Qingyue S1, which is priced at only 84,999 yuan, sparking heated discussions among netizens. But soon, Xiaomi insiders refuted the rumor, and BYD's Internet Reporting Center also announced that the news was a rumor.

There have actually been rumors about Xiaomi making cars. In June this year, Xiaomi released a new product poster with the caption "We are serious about making cars", but soon Xiaomi's public relations manager Xu Jieyun came out to say that this was the marketing copy for Xiaomi's remote control car and that the copywriter was "being clever".

But recently, a news that "Xiaomi and BYD jointly produced the first car for young people - Qingyue S1" once again ignited the enthusiasm of Mi fans.

The promotional picture in the news shows that Xiaomi Qingyue S1 is a convertible electric model with a pre-order price of 84,999 yuan. It uses a 130kW three-phase induction motor, has a maximum speed of 210 kilometers per hour, and uses a liquid cooling system.

Everything looks good, but industry insiders said that for such a high-configuration electric car, although the most important cost expenditure - battery information - has not yet been announced, it can be asserted that the selling price of 85,000 yuan is definitely not able to cover the cost of the entire vehicle.

As expected, Mi fans did not receive any further news about Qingyue S1, but instead received rumors refuted by Xiaomi and BYD officials.
