Infrastructure operation status

1. Operation of public charging infrastructure: In December 2021 , the number of public charging piles increased by 55,000 compared with November 2021 , a year-on-year increase of 42.1% . As of December 2021 , the member units of the alliance reported a total of 1.147 million public charging piles, including 470,000 DC charging piles , 677,000 AC charging piles, and 589 AC/DC integrated charging piles . In 2021 , the average monthly increase in public charging piles was about 28,300 .

2. The operation of public charging infrastructure in provinces, regions and cities. The public charging infrastructure built in the top 10 regions of Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Beijing, Zhejiang, Shandong, Hubei, Anhui, Henan and Fujian accounts for 71.7% . The national charging power is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Hebei, Henan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Beijing and other provinces and cities. The power flow is mainly to buses and passenger cars, and other types of vehicles such as sanitation logistics vehicles and taxis account for a small proportion. In December 2021 , the total charging power in the country was about 1.171 billion kWh , an increase of 89 million kWh from the previous month , a year-on-year increase of 42.0% and a month-on-month increase of 8.3% .

3. Operation of public charging infrastructure operators. As of the end of 2021 , there are 13 charging operators nationwide with more than 10,000 public charging piles , including: Xingxing Charging operates 257,000 , Teladian operates 252,000 , State Grid operates 196,000 , Yunkuai Charging operates 145,000 , China Southern Power Grid operates 41,000, Yiwi Energy operates 35,000 , Hui Charging operates 27,000 , Shenzhen Car Power Network operates 26,000 , SAIC Anyue operates 23,000 , Wanma Ai Charging operates 20,000 , China Putian operates 20,000 , Wancheng Wan Charging operates 12,000 , and Hengtong Ding Charging operates 11,000 . These 13 operators account for 92.9% of the total , and the remaining operators account for 7.1% .

4. Operation of charging facilities installed by car companies. As of the end of 2021 , 381,000 data on reasons for not installing charging facilities on vehicles were collected . Among them, the three factors of group users building piles on their own, no fixed parking spaces at residence, and non-cooperation of residential property management were the main reasons for not installing charging facilities on vehicles, accounting for 48.6% , 10.3% , and 9.9% respectively , totaling 68.8% . Users chose to charge at dedicated stations, there were no fixed parking spaces at work, and it was difficult to apply for installation, and other reasons accounted for 31.2% .

5. Overall operation of charging infrastructure. In 2021 , the number of charging infrastructure in China increased by 936,000 units, of which 340,000 public charging piles increased by 89.9% year-on-year ; the number of charging piles installed on vehicles increased sharply, reaching 597,000 units, up 323.9% year-on-year . By the end of 2021 , the number of charging infrastructure in China reached 2.617 million units, an increase of 70.1% year-on-year . In 2021 , the total charging power reached 11.15 billion kWh , an increase of 58.0% year-on-year , and the demand for electric vehicle charging continued to grow rapidly.
