People's Daily criticized Apple iPhone by name: Why is a mobile phone brand that ranks only fifth in domestic sales so arrogant?

As the iPhone throttling incident ferments around the world, Chinese users are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the inexplicable lag of their Apple products.

On January 5, the People's Daily even published a commentary directly calling out to Apple: It's time for foreign brands to cure their princess syndrome!

Not only did the People's Daily directly point out in the article that "as our living standards improve and consumption becomes more rational, blindly chasing after foreign brands is a thing of the past", it also cited data to show that according to consumption reports released by relevant media, the top four mobile phone sales in China in 2017 were all domestic brands, and among the top ten mobile phone sales growth lists, as many as 7 seats were still occupied by domestic brands, and Apple was still not on the list.

At the same time, the People's Daily also dug up Apple's previous "bend gate" and "antenna gate" "old accounts", as well as the after-sales service that was accused of being different between China and foreign countries. It emphasized that if Apple relies on its good products and popularity among consumers to bully customers, set high prices, reduce service, or even infringe on customers' rights, it is not the proper professional attitude and is even an approach that fails to see the situation clearly.

Although Apple has officially lowered the cost of replacing batteries for old iPhones, the People's Daily in its article still firmly believes the views of relevant experts, namely that Apple's "slowing down" of older phones is still suspected of infringing on consumers' right to know, right to choose and right to fair trade, and violates the principle of integrity. At the same time, it reminds consumers: If they continue to maintain an attitude of "let them hurt me a thousand times, I will still treat them like my first love" towards large companies, it will inevitably become easier for them to neglect foreign brands such as Apple.
