Brake failure and reduced driving range led to 20 BYD electric buses being returned and orders canceled by the US

According to foreign media reports, a batch of BYD electric buses were recently returned in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. The mayor of Albuquerque announced on November 13 that he would return 25 60-foot-long BYD electric buses and stop the entire project with an order of 20 buses. It is understood that these buses were manufactured in BYD's North American factory in California.

The reasons for the return included brake failure, battery range issues, and other electrical issues. Although BYD began to try to solve these problems, they became more and more serious. The mileage was originally advertised as 275 miles, or 440 kilometers, but the actual range was only 283 kilometers.

In fact, orders for BYD's electric buses in Guangzhou, Guizhou and other places, as well as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, have been postponed due to reasons such as reduced battery life.
