China Passenger Car Association: Global auto sales to reach 89.18 million units in 2023, up 11% year-on-year

Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the China Passenger Car Association, recently wrote an article analyzing the current situation of global automobiles in 2023. Data shows that in 2023, the world's automobile sales will reach 89.18 million units, an increase of 11% year-on-year. The Chinese automobile market has a huge influence on the world's automobile market, and China's share will remain at 34% in 2023. In terms of the performance of automobile companies around the world, Toyota Group is still the world's largest automobile company, with a share of 11.8% , and Volkswagen Group and Hyundai Kia rank second and third.

BYD is the only Chinese automaker to make it into the top ten in the world, ranking ninth with a share of 3.5%.

It is worth mentioning that BYD is also the only car company among the top ten car companies whose market share has increased , and its share in 2023 has increased nearly three times compared to 2021!

Judging from the overall performance of the group, Chinese independent brands have comprehensively increased their global market share, with BYD, Chery, Changan, SAIC and other independent brands performing relatively well.

Except for Tesla, the market share of international brands has declined across the board.
