The China Earthquake Networks Center officially determined that at 07:49 on January 30, a magnitude 6.1 earthquake occurred in Shaya County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang (40.01 degrees north latitude, 82.29 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 50 kilometers.

There are no villages within 20 kilometers of the earthquake, and no township settlements within 100 kilometers.

The epicenter is 141 kilometers from Shaya County, 174 kilometers from Xinhe County, 177 kilometers from Awati County, 199 kilometers from Kuqa City, 202 kilometers from Baicheng County, 105 kilometers from Aral City, and 611 kilometers from Urumqi City.

According to the China Earthquake Networks Center's rapid report catalog, a total of 218 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above have occurred within 200 kilometers of the epicenter in the past five years.
