Apple may launch web version of Apple Pay at WWDC 2016

Apple may launch web version of Apple Pay at WWDC 2016

Earlier this year, there were reports that Apple would soon launch a web version of Apple Pay. Now, according to Digital Trends, Apple will launch this feature at the upcoming 2016 WWDC.

The specific details of this version are not yet clear. It is speculated that users can use this function to shop online, and there will be an option on the web page to prompt users to pay through Apple Pay. After users choose to pay with this method, they will also need to authenticate through Touch ID on the mobile device to complete the operation.

Paying with the web version of Apple Pay is similar to purchasing apps in the iTunes App Store, which requires using Touch ID to verify user identity. It is also similar to the way banks provide users with software dongles or SMS two-factor authentication.

However, this feature does not require retailers to download or purchase new hardware, so it is more popular. I believe Apple will announce relevant details at the upcoming WWDC.
