China Automotive Research Institute released the insurance data of new energy vehicle companies in September, and NIO took the first place with 1,972 vehicles

Recently, the China Automotive Technology and Research Center announced the insurance data of new energy vehicle companies in September 2019. Among them, NIO ranked first with 1,972 vehicles, followed by Xpeng and WM Motor.

In terms of details, China Automotive Research Institute revealed that in September, the number of NIO cars insured was 1,972, accounting for 35% of the total statistics. In the first nine months of 2019, the number of NIO cars insured reached 12,430, accounting for 30% of the total data. For other brands, Xpeng ranked second with 1,487 cars, and WM ranked third with 1,344 cars.

In terms of models, 1,659 NIO ES6s were insured in September, ranking first among new car companies. In the first nine months of 2019, 7,841 NIO ES8s were insured, ranking fifth in the luxury SUV high-end market. In terms of single vehicles, NIO has indeed achieved good results, basically establishing its position as a new car unicorn.

Although the overall data is very impressive, according to the financial report, NIO's Q2 revenue was 1.508 billion yuan, and its net loss attributable to shareholders was 3.285 billion yuan, which still did not get rid of the bad luck of losses. However, according to Qichacha data, NIO still received a 10 billion yuan investment from Yizhuang State Investment in May this year. It is unknown how NIO will solve its financial problems in the future.
