A few months before graduation, I had the opportunity to intern at a large Internet company for a period of time. I was exposed to multiple projects and gained some professional experience in operations . The following is my own understanding. The text is a little rough. Regardless of whether it is right or wrong, you can take a look and communicate with each other. Professional Experience1. No luck, no victory. Data is king.Data plays a very important role in operational work. It can be said that any correct conclusion is based on accurate data analysis , and this conclusion is the basis for decision-making on the next step of action. For example, if a communication activity is held, how many users are reached by the activity, how many users actually participate in the activity, what are the retention rate and conversion rate ? These basic data can reflect the communication effect and help operators analyze whether the purpose of the communication activity has been achieved. They can also determine which links have made mistakes and which step can be done better, providing real reference suggestions for subsequent activities. Another example is tracking the usage of product functionalities, establishing a funnel model, creating statistical points for each user operation, observing the loss and conversion rate of each step, deeply exploring the value of each step, and polishing the product experience to the extreme. In addition, there is grayscale data analysis. Before the official version of the product is released, some specific seed users will be found to conduct internal testing. Based on some performance indicators, such as Crash rate, CPU consumption, memory usage, and operational indicators such as daily active users (DAU), monthly active users (MAU), average usage time, and user feedback on user experience, the product will be further improved. If the data performance is poor, the release of a new version may even be canceled. Therefore, good data analysis and mining capabilities are the basis for competent operations. Being good at discovering problems from data and finding new optimization points is an effective way to ensure continuous improvement and enhancement of products. 2. Specialize in your field and focus on pain pointsThe division of labor among operations staff in large companies is very clear and extremely detailed. For example, each area of work, such as data analysis, event planning, backend system construction, market development, internal cooperation, and overseas operations, is basically handled by a dedicated person. This requires operations staff to be sufficiently detailed and in-depth, digging deep into proprietary areas to create job value. 3. Global vision and operation and maintenance constructionAlthough you are doing the work of a screw in a large company, you should not have the mentality of a screw. Every role in the job is inextricably linked to the whole. Whether you are planning an event, setting up a backend system, or analyzing data, you must have a global perspective. Starting from the overall perspective can often produce unexpected results. Of course, it is not easy to see the overall situation. This has a lot to do with personal vision, mind, goals and ambitions. Drawing a mind map is a very important way to see the overall situation. By using mind maps to expand your thinking and find the focus of your business, you can better help yourself find areas that are easily overlooked. 4. Attract new customers and promote activity, and be creativeIt has to be said that event planning is a particularly important part of product operations , because the company's products ultimately hope to attract more users and have greater user stickiness, so as to generate greater added value. Event planning requires creativity. An idea that can catch people's eyes can often add a lot of color to the product and generate great interest in users. But creativity is not something that can be thought of in a day or two. It comes from the love and observation of life, and the grasp and understanding of human nature. Therefore, becoming a good operator starts with loving life freely and unrestrainedly. For newcomers to the operations workplace, I hope the above four points can help everyone adapt to the pace of work as soon as possible. These are also some of my insights and experiences during this period. I also hope that some more experienced people can provide guidance and communication to help those of us who are new to the workplace to make better progress and grow faster. Workplace experienceWhen we first enter the workplace, we have a lot of difficulties to adapt to. Many people cannot make the change in their mindset very well. School is different from society, and the way of dealing with people that we have developed before may need to be changed in order to adapt to the rhythm of the workplace. The following are my suggestions for those who are new to the workplace based on my own experience. Let’s encourage each other. 1. Be proactive, bold and carefulEntering a new environment always requires a process of adaptation. I felt a little awkward when I first started my internship and was very respectful to everyone around me. Later I found that this was not a good idea, because being too polite would alienate people from each other, especially in Internet companies, where the functional structure is very flat, and being too polite would seem unnatural. When I started my internship, an old employee told me that I should relax and take the initiative so that I could leave a good impression. This is really a wise saying. In addition to professionalism, work ability also involves the ability to communicate with others. If you are bolder and take bigger steps, you will gain much more than you expected. 2. Team awareness and cooperationThe division of labor in large companies determines that output results can only be achieved through cooperation. Everyone's work is only a part of the final result, so when outputting work, you must consider team behavior and complete the work you are responsible for on time and with high quality. When the project is finally completed, you should also actively recognize the work of others in the team and praise the efforts of your partners. Of course, this is also a philosophy of life in the workplace. Praising your partners in a timely manner can effectively reduce project friction and internal consumption, improve communication efficiency, and increase project output. 3. Be humble and eager to learn, and seek progress in a steady mannerFor fresh graduates, it is very important to maintain a humble attitude, actively ask questions to colleagues around you, and be brave enough to raise even the simplest questions. Having no experience and being prone to making mistakes are the characteristics of fresh graduates, and bosses understand this, so you need to be relaxed and bold in trying things. However, you can only make a mistake once, and after correcting it, you must learn from the lesson and ensure that you can solve the same problem quickly next time you encounter it. I hope the above three points can help newcomers to the workplace so that we can communicate with each other and make progress together!
