Feeling sleepy and tired in spring? Please check out this spring tea drinking guide

Spring is the season when everything sprouts, and it is also a good time to drink tea.

April 20 is National Tea Drinking Day, which aims to encourage people to pay attention to tea drinking culture and enjoy the fun of tea drinking. Tea drinking is not only a lifestyle, but also a healthy habit.

However, different teas are suitable for different people, and some details need to be paid attention to during the tea drinking process.

On this tea-drinking festival, let us learn about what kind of tea is suitable for different body types, what kind of tea is suitable for spring, and what we need to pay attention to when drinking tea in spring.

1. Choose the tea that suits you according to your physical condition

From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, human constitution can be divided into 9 types: balanced constitution, qi deficiency constitution, yang deficiency constitution, yin deficiency constitution, blood stasis constitution, phlegm-damp constitution, damp-heat constitution, qi stagnation constitution and special constitution.

Tea can also be classified into cool, neutral and warm types. According to the degree of tea fermentation, common teas are mainly divided into green tea, clear tea (including oolong tea, Tieguanyin, Dahongpao), black tea, dark tea (Pu'er tea) and other categories. Generally speaking, green tea and Tieguanyin among clear teas are cool teas due to their low degree of fermentation; oolong tea and Dahongpao among clear teas are neutral teas; and black tea and Pu'er tea are warm teas.

Generally speaking, people with a hot constitution should drink cool tea, while people with a cold constitution should drink warm tea.

You can analyze your physical constitution according to the two tables below, and then choose the tea that suits your physical constitution.

For example, people with yang deficiency should drink more warm teas such as black tea, dark tea, and heavily fermented oolong tea, while people with yin deficiency should drink more cool teas such as green tea, yellow tea, and white tea.

However, young people nowadays inevitably have bad habits such as staying up late and drinking, which leads to changes in physical constitution. For example, if you are fat, you are prone to getting angry, but if you eat something raw or cold, you will have diarrhea. When drinking tea, you can choose according to the main symptoms.

If your body has the following adverse reactions, it means that the tea is not suitable for you and you need to stop drinking it.

1. Gastrointestinal intolerance: abdominal (stomach) pain, loose stools, etc. may occur after drinking tea.

2. Excessive excitement, insomnia or dizziness, weakness in hands and feet, loss of appetite, etc.

2. Spring sleepiness, fatigue, and liver fire, these teas are recommended

1. Drink scented tea to relieve spring fatigue

As we enter the warm April, many people are yawning and feeling sleepy.

This is because the weather is getting warmer, and the human body needs to dissipate heat to adapt to the climate. The peripheral blood vessels on the surface of the body expand, and the blood flow to the skin increases, while the blood supply to the internal organs and brain decreases. The body's metabolism is active, and when the nutrient supply in food is insufficient, the brain's energy conversion efficiency will decrease. In addition, the warm spring wind contains more anions, which can have a calming and hypnotic effect on people.

Scented tea is sweet, cool, aromatic and pungent, which helps to dissipate the winter cold accumulated in the human body, promote the growth of yang energy in the body, make people feel refreshed, and help relieve "spring sleepiness".

For example, jasmine contains volatile oily substances, which have the effects of promoting qi and relieving pain, relieving depression and dispersing nodules, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory, and refreshing. It can stabilize emotions and relieve depression.

Rose flowers are slightly warm in nature and can eliminate fatigue and improve physical fitness, making them suitable for drinking in spring for health preservation.

Wolfberry tea nourishes the kidneys, liver, lungs, improves eyesight, strengthens bones and muscles, and relieves fatigue. It is especially suitable for workers who spend a long time in front of the computer. It can not only fight spring sleepiness, but also relieve eye fatigue.

2. Phoenix Dancong relieves fatigue

Phoenix Dancong tea has a high caffeine content. Caffeine has a cardiotonic and diuretic effect. Diuresis works by excreting lactic acid and avoiding its accumulation in the body, because the accumulation of lactic acid in the body will cause fatigue.

3. Chrysanthemum tea nourishes the liver and protects the eyes

According to traditional Chinese medicine, spring corresponds to the liver in the five elements. The liver is most active at this time. If it is not properly maintained, it is easy to experience symptoms of liver fire such as irritability, dry mouth or bitter mouth, bad breath, dry eyes, dizziness, headache, restlessness and insomnia.

Chrysanthemum tea can detoxify, improve health, dispel wind and clear heat, and has the effect of resisting and eliminating harmful chemical or radioactive substances accumulated in the body. Chrysanthemum is rich in vitamin A, which is an important substance for maintaining eye health. Computer users who often feel dry eyes can benefit from drinking more chrysanthemum tea.

However, since chrysanthemum is cold in nature, it is not suitable for people with weak spleen and stomach, yang deficiency, and heavy moisture. It is also not suitable for women during menstruation and people suffering from colds.

4. Lemon honey tea relieves dry skin

Lemon is rich in vitamin C, which can prevent spots and dull skin, and relieve dry skin caused by windy spring, making the skin more crystal clear. Honey can regulate the spleen and stomach, moisturize the intestines and promote bowel movements, and has the effect of moisturizing and detoxifying.

3. Precautions for drinking tea in spring

1. Drink immediately after brewing. Flower tea and fruit tea should not be left overnight.

The temperature changes greatly in spring, which is easy to breed bacteria and viruses. Tea is rich in various antioxidant active substances, including vitamin C, vitamin E, tea polyphenols, etc. After soaking in hot water, these substances enter the water. If they are exposed to the air for a long time, they will cause oxidation, lose their antioxidant ability, and reduce their nutritional effects in the body.

2. Don’t be greedy for more or more concentrated

Normal people, especially middle-aged and elderly people, should drink 4-5 cups of tea a day, and light tea is better. Excessive water in the body will increase the burden on the heart and kidneys. Strong tea will make the brain overly excited, the heartbeat will increase, leading to frequent urination, insomnia, etc. At the same time, the tannic acid in it will react with the iron in the food to produce new substances that are difficult to dissolve, which will hinder the absorption of iron.

3. Don’t drink tea on an empty stomach

Many people feel weak and have poor appetite in spring. Drinking tea on an empty stomach may cause stomach discomfort, and sometimes even palpitations, nausea and other discomfort symptoms, resulting in "tea drunkenness". After "tea drunkenness" occurs, you can eat 1-2 candies and drink some boiled water to relieve it.
