Setting many world records! The world's tallest fully floating Lingdingyang Bridge was successfully completed

On April 28, the reporter learned from the Guangdong Provincial Transportation Group that the Lingdingyang Bridge of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a national key project, has been completed, marking the completion of the entire bridge project and bringing the project one step closer to completion and opening to traffic.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel connects Shenzhen on the east bank of the Pearl River Estuary and Zhongshan City on the west bank. It is an important hub project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It is about 24 kilometers long and is a cross-sea cluster project integrating "bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater interchanges". It has a driving speed of 100 kilometers per hour and adopts the technical standards of a two-way eight-lane expressway.

The cross-sea section of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel is 22.39 kilometers long. The Lingdingyang Bridge is one of the key control projects of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel. It is 2,826 meters long and is a three-span, fully floating steel box girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1,666 meters. It has set three world records:

The world's largest span fully offshore sea suspension bridge; the bridge deck is 91 meters high, making it the world's highest sea bridge; the bridge anchor weighs 1.7 million tons, making it the world's largest sea anchor.

The main cable is called the "lifeline" of the suspension bridge, connecting the main towers and anchors on the east and west sides of the Lingdingyang Bridge. A single main cable of the bridge consists of 199 strands, each of which is made up of 127 strands and 6 mm in diameter, made by China's independently developed 2060 MPa galvanized aluminum steel wire, which is currently the world's highest strength suspension bridge main cable steel wire. During the completion of the bridge, the maximum cable force of each main cable exceeds 100,000 tons, which is equivalent to being able to bear the weight of three medium-sized aircraft carriers at the same time.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel is another important transportation artery built for the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area after the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Nansha Bridge. After its completion, it will effectively promote the economic and transportation integration and transformation and upgrading of the Pearl River Delta, and become a direct channel connecting the east and west banks of the Pearl River Estuary. At that time, the driving time from Shenzhen to Zhongshan will be reduced from the original 2 hours to 20 minutes.
