China Association of Automobile Manufacturers: Brief analysis of automobile industry production and sales in October 2022

According to statistics and analysis by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in October 2022, automobile production and sales continued to develop steadily.

In October 2022, automobile production and sales reached 2.599 million and 2.505 million respectively, down 2.7% and 4.0% month-on-month, and up 11.1% and 6.9% year-on-year respectively.

From January to October 2022, automobile production and sales reached 22.242 million and 21.975 million respectively, up 7.9% and 4.6% year-on-year respectively.

In October 2022, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 2.334 million and 2.231 million respectively, down 3.1% and 4.3% month-on-month, and up 16.9% and 10.7% year-on-year respectively.

From January to October 2022, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 19.551 million and 19.218 million respectively, up 17.3% and 13.7% year-on-year respectively.

In October 2022, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 265,000 and 273,000 units respectively. Production increased by 0.8% month-on-month and sales decreased by 1.8% month-on-month; year-on-year decreases were 22.7% and 16.2% respectively.

From January to October 2022, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 2.691 million and 2.757 million respectively, down 31.7% and 32.8% year-on-year respectively.

In October 2022, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 762,000 and 714,000 respectively, up 87.6% and 81.7% year-on-year respectively.

From January to October 2022, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 5.485 million and 5.280 million respectively, both increasing by 1.1 times year-on-year.
