The second Thursday of November every year is the famous Guinness World Records Day. When we talk about the Guinness World Records, we always think of the longest hair, the longest life, the longest nails and other eye-opening anecdotes. However, the Guinness World Records also have records that reflect the country's scientific and technological strength. Now let's take stock of some of the Chinese science and technology in the Guinness World Records. The "Horse" Galloping in the Desert: The World's Largest Photovoltaic Panel Graphic Power Station - Junma Photovoltaic Power Station The "Junma Photovoltaic Power Station" is located in the Dalat Photovoltaic Power Generation Application Leading Base in the Bukuqi Desert of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, covering an area of more than 1.3 million square meters. As its name suggests, the Junma Photovoltaic Power Station is composed of nearly 200,000 photovoltaic panels. The pattern formed by them looks like a group of horses lying in the desert when viewed from the air. In 2019, the Junma Photovoltaic Power Station passed the Guinness World Records certification and became the world's largest photovoltaic panel pattern power station. As of September 2022, Junma Solar Power Station has output more than 2.3 billion kWh of green electricity, which is almost equivalent to saving 760,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1.8 million tons. At the same time, Junma Solar Power Station has cumulatively treated more than 10 square kilometers of desert. A "light show" dedicated to China's space program: the world's largest number of drones flying simultaneously In the early morning of September 20, 2020, the drone team of Shenzhen Damo Da Zhikong Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese drone formation company, launched 3,051 drones at the same time over the track and field stadium of Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai Campus, thus setting a new world record: the most drones flying at the same time, breaking the world record of 2,200 drones launched at the same time held by the Russian drone team. The Guinness World Records certification officer participated in the whole process and issued the Guinness World Records certification certificate after verification. The pattern of the UAV formation flight also embodies the outstanding achievements of my country's aerospace field, such as Tiangong-1, Beidou satellite system, and China Space Station. China's UAV formation industry reflects the important achievements of my country's strategic practice of "strengthening the country through science and technology", which not only demonstrates the technical strength of my country's UAVs, but also highlights the vigorous development of my country's aerospace industry. The "natural chasm" across Yunnan and Guizhou: the world's highest bridge - Beipanjiang Bridge The Beipanjiang Bridge spans Duge Town in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province and Puli Township in Xuanwei City, Yunnan Province. It was officially completed and opened to traffic on December 29, 2016. The Beipanjiang Bridge is 1,341.4 meters long, and the vertical height from the bridge deck to the valley bottom is 565 meters, which is roughly equivalent to the height of a 200-story building. On September 19, 2018, the Beipanjiang Bridge was certified by the Guinness World Records as the world's highest bridge. During the construction of the Beipanjiang Bridge, my country's technical and engineering teams overcame five major challenges: first, temperature control of large-volume foundation concrete in mountainous areas; second, pumping of machine-made sand high-performance concrete in ultra-high cable towers; third, overall lifting of ultra-heavy steel anchor beams in mountainous areas; fourth, pushing of steel truss beams without horizontal forces on high piers in side spans; and fifth, closing of large-span steel truss cable-stayed bridges. Beipanjiang Bridge (Source: Xinhua News Agency) After the completion of the Beipanjiang Bridge, the G56 (Hangzhou-Ruili Expressway), which runs through Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Yunnan and other places, with a total length of 3,404 kilometers, has been fully opened to traffic. What's more amazing is that the Beipanjiang Bridge has reduced the driving time from Xuanwei, Yunnan to Liupanshui, Guizhou from 5 hours to 1 hour. Like Chinese technology!
