A super healing little thing, you can experience the joy of camping at home after doing it

Spring is here, and all kinds of flowers and plants are about to bloom. I am eager to go camping again. However, when I think about spending half a day and energy just to go out, I immediately want to give up. Is there any way to enjoy the joy of camping at home?

Don't worry, there really is! As long as you make good use of the staggered placement of green plants, you can enjoy the joy of camping even if you stay at home. Especially after owning a tree, you can deeply feel the joy of "being in the city, but your heart in the forest".

Today is Arbor Day, and we would like to present to you a " Guide to Indoor Tree Growing " which will help you to have a small forest in your house. No matter where you are in the south or the north, planting a whole tree in the house is a serious matter.

Large-leaf banyan trees:

Fiddle Leaf Ficus ❎ Love Ficus ✅

If we talk about the tree that can best create a sense of atmosphere, it must be the one with very large leaves. With a little light on, the sense of atmosphere will come out.

When it comes to trees with large leaves, many people will immediately think of the fiddle-leaf fig ( Ficus pandurata Hance ).

But, STOP! For tree-raising novices, the fiddle-leaf fig will let you experience what it feels like to have leaves falling off and your heart breaking: too little water, the leaves dry up; too much water, the leaves die of waterlogging; too little light, the leaves fall to the shade; too much light, the leaves rust and fall off...

It's okay for the leaves to fall off, but it takes at least half a month for a new leaf to grow out. If you're not careful, the fiddle-leaf fig you raise will be even balder than you are. There's no chance of it growing taller. If you raise it for several years, it will stay short and you'll be at ease.

Although fiddle-leaf fig can be used as a street tree in the south, it takes a lot of effort to grow it well indoors in the north.

Ficus microcarpa maintenance difficulty: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Maintenance advice:

①Bright diffuse light, avoid strong direct light in summer

②Suitable temperature: 20~35 degrees

③ Use plenty of water and fertilizer, but avoid water accumulation at the bottom that will cause root rot.

④ Provide appropriate shade during strong sunlight and high temperatures in summer; move into a heated room in winter to avoid frostbite.

⑤ Ensure good ventilation, avoid water accumulation on leaves, and avoid rust disease.

⑥ Stay away from air-conditioning outlets and radiators to prevent drastic fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

Although both are banyan trees with large leaves, the love-leaf fig is much friendlier than the fiddle-leaf fig.

Compared to the fiddle-leaf fig, which takes several months to grow a leaf, the love fig is a hard worker in the leaf-growing world. As long as it is placed in a place with bright scattered light, the love fig can grow a green leaf bigger than a face plate in three to five days. The large leaves sway in the sun, and the vigorous vitality is overwhelming.

With it, you can now really "live under the tree". And the love fig grows very tall, from a small dwarf in the pot to a roof in one year. If you think it is too tall, you can cut the branches and plant them in the pot. After a while, you can have a small tree.

The Ficus microcarpa has a hidden skill - it can be used as a humidifier without plugging in electricity . The lush and huge leaves make the transpiration of the Ficus microcarpa particularly obvious. Keeping a Ficus microcarpa in a small space is like having a humidity-fixing artifact for the entire space. Even in winter when the floor heating is turned on, my small garden can have a stable humidity.

Difficulty of caring for the love fig: ⭐️

Maintenance advice:

①Bright diffuse light

②Suitable temperature: 20~35 degrees

③ Water alternately in spring and autumn; water more in summer to ensure humidity; water less in winter to keep the soil relatively dry;

④ Provide appropriate shade during strong sunlight and high temperatures in summer; move into a heated room in winter to avoid frostbite.

⑤ Don’t buy too high, or you’ll end up hitting the roof if you don’t agree

Monstera,

Recommended to newbies a hundred times

Strictly speaking, Monsteradeliciosa Liebm. is not a tree, but a giant climbing vine. But it grows big enough, and... you can't kill it no matter what you do!

The advantage of Monstera is that it is cheap and can be grown in large pots. It can support the natural feeling of the whole space with one plant. Moreover, for beginners, it is relatively simple to maintain. It is not easy to kill with light and water . Even if the roots of Monstera are rotten due to poor maintenance, only the stems are left after digging them out. If they are placed in water for hydroponics, they can grow roots again and be activated.

It is not picky about location or ventilation, and even sunlight can be replaced by special plant lights, and it can still grow large leaves with open backs.

The most important thing is that the price of green Monstera has come down. As long as you don’t pursue white turtles or super old turtles, the price is really cheap.

Monstera care difficulty: ⭐️

Maintenance advice:

① Light: Prefers scattered light and avoids direct strong light.

② Water: Keep the soil moist to avoid waterlogging and root rot; reduce watering in winter.

③Temperature: The suitable temperature is 18~25 degrees, and not lower than 12 degrees in winter.

④ Don’t throw away the plants if soil cultivation fails, remember to save them by hydroponics.

⑤ Remember to poke the aerial roots into the pot so that they can absorb nutrients more efficiently.

Schefflera & Lily Bamboo & Millennium Wood & Fortune Tree,

Keep your hands off the water

Heptapleurum heptaphyllum , Dracaena reflexa and Cordyline fruticosa are all "old internet celebrities" in the northern tree-growing world. They are relatively easy to grow as they have become internet celebrities. They can survive well with diffused light and regular watering without stagnant water. However, tree-growing novices should be especially careful. These trees will not die if you forget to water them occasionally, but if you water them all the time, they will easily rot and die on the spot.

Of course, being an internet celebrity means a high price. If you like this kind of branches and leaves but are afraid that your wallet will not be able to bear it, you can consider the fortune tree. Yes, it is the fortune tree that always appears in the office and is always braided into a big braid.

In fact, it looks pretty good when it grows freely. You can find it by searching for native money trees. The elegant tree shape and leaves create a relaxing atmosphere in the room.

Maintenance difficulty: ⭐️⭐️

Maintenance advice:

① Light: Shade-tolerant, prefers scattered light, avoids direct sunlight.

② Water: Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and reduce watering in winter.

③Temperature: The suitable temperature is 18~25 degrees, and not lower than 10 degrees in winter.

④Humidity: The humidity requirement is not high. When dry, you can spray water to increase the humidity.

Brazilwood

That’s right, the Brazilian wood ( Dracaena fragrans ) is also a plant that is rampant in tropical regions as a street tree.

People usually see it as Groot on the desktop, but it is actually a tree. The layers of leaves are green and full of vitality.

Brazilian wood maintenance difficulty: ⭐️

Maintenance advice:

① Light: Bright scattered light. It can also tolerate moderate shade, but the leaf color will fade.

② Water: Water when the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when the soil is dry.

③Temperature: Not cold-resistant, the temperature should not be lower than 10 degrees in winter.

For trees kept indoors in the north, our southern friends, who have bright sunlight, suitable temperature and suitable humidity, can of course grow bigger and more vigorous with just a little effort than our northern friends.

Finally, here are some general tips for growing trees indoors. I suggest you save them for future reference:

1. Choose the right flower pot, not the expensive one. Beginners should try to avoid glazed ceramic pots, which look good but are definitely coffins for green plants. Large-sized cement pots are recommended for planting trees. They are cheap, large, and stable, and will not cause accidents where the top is heavy and one end falls over. Cement has good air permeability and is not prone to root rot. You can also choose plastic imitation ceramic pots with drainage holes on the side, which are cheap, good-looking, and can effectively prevent water accumulation and root rot.

2. The changes of the four seasons will affect the light, temperature and humidity of the indoor space, the placement, watering frequency, etc., which need to be adjusted and changed according to the season. If you just leave it there and don't care about it, it will die.

3. There is no so-called golden frequency for watering . You have to figure out "don't water if it's not dry, and water thoroughly if you do" based on the dryness of your own potting soil, so that the potting soil can have a good dry-wet cycle.

Remember, for beginners, trees are often not killed by dryness, but by overwatering. Do not water as soon as the soil surface is dry, and do not water until it is dry and cracked. If you are really unsure whether the soil is dry, you might as well buy a soil tester and use the data to control your hands from watering carelessly. If you are too lazy to spend money, you can stick a chopstick into the soil every time you water, and if it is wet when you pull it out, don't water it.

4. No matter how easy a tree is to grow, it is still a tree. Bright diffused light and good ventilation are still issues that need to be considered . Don't believe the seller's claim that "this tree tolerates shade and can survive anywhere." It will not die, but you probably don't like it to live with all its leaves fallen off.

5. If it is difficult to provide them with natural light and wind, you might as well try the power of technology: plant lights + circulating fans to create an environment as close to nature as possible for them.

6. A removable tray is placed under the basin to facilitate changing the placement and orientation.
