After thirty daily limit increases and being suspended for many days, Storm Technology, which has avoided the turmoil in the stock market, is about to resume trading.
Recently, Feng Xin, CEO of Baofeng Technology, began to learn from LeTV and talked about "ecosystem" twice in public.
Can the so-called VR ecosystem and Baofeng TV ecosystem make Baofeng’s stock market no longer rely on “luck”?


Baofeng TV ecosystem has not yet been implemented
On July 6, Baofeng Technology, RRS, Aofei Animation, and Sannuo Digital Video held a press conference to announce the establishment of a joint venture company, Baofeng TV, to enter the Internet TV industry. According to the agreement, the four parties will provide users with full-process services by connecting their superior resources in content production, content playback, hardware development, and logistics services.


At the press conference, Feng Xin talked about the ecosystem again. He believed that "to make TV, if you lack any one of 1, 2, and 3, you are born disabled." Among them, 1 refers to talent, 2 refers to the Internet population and Internet structure, and 3 refers to offline manufacturing, offline experience stores, and offline services. With the linkage of the four parties, from technology, content to logistics, talent, and then to IP, games, and audio, Baofeng connected an ecological chain in just two months.
At present, the prototype of the Baofeng TV ecosystem is composed of Baofeng Technology, RRS, Alpha Animation and Culture, and Sanno Digital Audio and Video, which play different roles in the Baofeng TV industry.
According to reports, Baofeng Technology holds about 50% of Baofeng TV's shares. Baofeng will provide technology, content, users and brands. The most important of these is Baofeng's Internet user resources. Baofeng Video has 300 million Internet users, and the number of daily active users has exceeded 50 million. RRS is the second largest shareholder, holding nearly 21% of Baofeng TV's shares. It will contribute cloud store marketing network and smart logistics network. The cloud store marketing network has 30,000 experience stores and 17,000 community service centers. Aofei Animation holds about 10% of Baofeng TV's shares. Aofei will provide 5% to 10% of the first-run content, and the rest of the content will be obtained through open cooperation. Sannuo Digital Audio and Video only holds 5% of Baofeng TV's shares, mainly providing audio solutions. The team led by Liu Yaoping holds almost more shares than the sum of Aofei Animation and Sannuo Digital Audio and Video.


With the combination of shareholders' differentiated factors, Liu Yaoping, CEO of Baofeng TV, showed "5 cards" - user traffic, audio and video playback technology, Internet TV team, shareholder corporate resources and ecological partners. The first four cards are relatively clear, and the content providers among the ecological partners have attracted much attention. Baofeng TV's video license holders are China Radio and Television Galaxy and Wasu Media. When asked how to obtain content, Feng Xin said that it is not necessary to adopt the model of Xiaomi's investment and cooperation. Baofeng TV prefers Xiaomi's open cooperation attitude to strive for more possible content.



Feng Xin also revealed that the specifics of Baofeng TV have not been decided yet, and it is not certain that the TV will be released this year. However, when the product is not yet formed and the content is still in vain, Baofeng announced a sales target of 10 million sets of Baofeng TV in three years. Why is Baofeng so eager to announce the Baofeng TV target?
Some analysts believe that Baofeng has painted a beautiful blueprint for investors this time, just to prevent its stock price from falling too badly. Feng Xin also said that at present, Baofeng's stock price is indeed a bit high, and it is normal to fall. He believes that generally, when the stock market bubble is greater than 10%, it is necessary to do something about it. But he avoided talking about the Baofeng stock market bubble.

Is the VR ecosystem reliable?

Some people have always believed that the stock price bubble of Baofeng is largely due to VR. When Baofeng's stock price was soaring, Feng Xin rarely talked about VR. Recently, he took the initiative to talk about the VR ecosystem in public.
Since VR became a hot topic, domestic manufacturers have entered the market and launched various VR products. Among them, Baofeng Magic Mirror, which focuses on the low-end market, has become popular. As of March 25, 2015, the cumulative sales of Magic Mirror I and Magic Mirror II reached 100,000 and nearly 140,000 units respectively.
In China, Baofeng Mojing has not only won in terms of quantity, but also made certain breakthroughs in terms of quality. According to the "VR China Index Report for March 2015" released by Baofeng Mojing, the three data of the average number of daily active users, the highest daily active users and the average number of daily new users of VR users have increased by more than 20% this month; the average daily usage time of a single user has reached 27 minutes. Although many people are questioning whether Baofeng Mojing can support the skyrocketing stock price of Baofeng, Baofeng's stock market still maintains a daily limit trend with the concept.


In fact, no matter how enthusiastic the market is about VR, after all, VR products are still in their infancy, and the experience effect is average. VR still has a long way to go before it can be popularized in the market. Previously, Feng Xin also believed that VR would have to wait for three to five years before it could have some substantial progress. In particular, the problem of VR products causing dizziness is difficult to solve for the time being, which will slow down the development of VR. At the 2015 GDC conference, Oculus CTO John Carmack delivered a VR keynote speech and frankly stated that the reason why Oculus's consumer version of VR equipment was so slow to launch was related to the fact that VR headsets can cause motion sickness and visual fatigue.
But after announcing that Baofeng would release a TV, when Baofeng was about to resume trading, Feng Xin suddenly changed his tune, saying that the basic Internet services would be affected by VR in 12 months or at the latest 18 months, and once affected, most of them would be overturned. Feng Xin also pointed out that Baofeng Magic Mirror has shifted its focus, slowly differentiating the helmets and making the App the center. VR observer Liu Weihua believes that VR will have a small wave of development when Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift go on sale next year, but most VR manufacturers have just started working on content, and the content is relatively small, "18 months later, VR will not be much better."

Baofeng, which was lucky enough to escape the suspension, currently has a share price of 307.56 yuan. As the stock market is generally down, Feng Xin, who has never publicly spoken about it, has twice come out to talk about "ecology", but the VR ecology and TV ecology are too vague and difficult to implement for the time being. Baofeng hopes to achieve a "soft landing" in the stock market through the concept of ecology.
