Lenovo smart glasses are an "image project" without ecological vitality
From time to time, there are some big movements in the field of smart hardware. After many manufacturers followed the trend of smart watches and bracelets, Lenovo recently officially released its first smart wearable device - Lenovo smart glasses. Perhaps when this news came out, most people felt: Wow! Besides Google, someone else dared to make this thing. The smart glasses project is led by Lenovo itself, and the two partners are Vuzix, which is responsible for hardware, and Beijing Yunshi Zhitong, which is responsible for software. Of course, consumers who know a little about smart hardware will naturally not be easily deceived by the "independent" remarks of manufacturers. From the analysis of the essence of the product, Lenovo's smart glasses are simply a copycat of Google Glasses in terms of 1Ghz Texas Instruments dual-core processor, 1G RAM, 5-megapixel camera, Android system, etc., and if you have really seen pictures of Lenovo glasses, in fact, Google Glasses with the "Lenovo" logo attached to them will look like this. So, why did Lenovo, a nation of national pride, make such a replica product? First of all, people who think of "Fan Qiang" when they see Google will definitely say that this will help to develop localized services for smart glasses products in China. Google Glass is a novel experience, but many functions cannot be used in mainland China, making this product a "face" product. Lenovo is different. Its database and server are all in China, and it also does IT operation and maintenance work. Therefore, in terms of localization and "grounding", Lenovo is much better than Google. But thinking back, the complexity of the software system of smart glasses is by no means the same as that of smartphones. Google, the creator of the Android ecosystem, is still in its infancy. How much progress will Lenovo make? Perhaps the Android 4.0 system that Lenovo smart glasses are equipped with is several generations behind Google Glass, which is the most intuitive manifestation. Then, domestic mobile phone users must think that Lenovo smart glasses must have its price advantage in China. Yes, this is also the core value of Lenovo's creation of "smart glasses that Chinese people can use". Judging from the price of 8,000 yuan, Lenovo smart glasses are indeed much more "honest" than Google glasses, which cost tens of thousands of yuan. But is 8,000 yuan a small amount for Chinese consumers to buy electronic products? We can accept the big price difference between Lenovo's computer products in the Chinese and American markets, but the "American conscience" should not be too optimistic about the consumption capacity of the Chinese public. Finally, perhaps from a longer-term perspective, will smart glasses be an important step in Lenovo's own smart ecosystem strategy? This is even more ridiculous, because apart from the PC industry, Lenovo has almost no achievements worth showing off in the consumer market. The lack of many links in the smart product ecosystem can never be turned around by relying on a killer product alone. Overall, in recent years, Lenovo's development path, the ecosystem construction that technology manufacturers pay more and more attention to is far less than that of China's local rising stars, the reputation of mobile smart terminal products is not good, and the smart TV, an important part of the smart home industry, gives people the feeling of just a flash of inspiration . When it comes to the Lenovo brand, people's main impression is that it is still relying on the old capital of the sunset industry of PC. Therefore, just when China's technology industry is looking forward to world-class brands like Lenovo to stimulate the development of the domestic smart industry through innovative products, the emergence of smart glasses shows that Lenovo hopes to pick a fruit that is not yet ripe. The advent of Google Glass is an important development plan for Google and its Android ecosystem to touch the wearable field. With the continuous advancement of new technologies such as smart home life and Android wear, this layout will increasingly reflect its importance. However, Lenovo's smart glasses may just be a smart terminal product with a gimmick, nothing more. The reason why Lenovo developed smart glasses is nothing more than a reflection of its uncertain outlook on the future of the smart industry. Even for the smart phone products that are the pillars of the industry, Lenovo has experienced the erratic move of buying and selling the mobile phone department in the early days. As for smart glasses, it seems that it is not what the market needs, but what the Lenovo brand needs. Simply put, as the industry's leading PC company, Lenovo urgently needs a "high-end" product to make its presence felt in the smart industry and do some "face-saving projects". Perhaps for a company with no core technology reserves, Lenovo has done very well, but without the right direction guidance, it will ultimately make a technology giant miss out on market opportunities again.
