Experts warn: GPS is taking away our sense of direction

According to the British Daily Mail, experts say that satellite navigation is not only making people lazier, but is also slowly depriving humans of their sense of direction.

Experts warn that sense of direction is "use it or lose it", and people should make full use of this innate ability and avoid over-reliance on the Global Positioning System (GPS).

Roger McKinlay, a satellite communications and navigation consultant, believes that satellite navigation will not really deprive people of their navigation ability, but if you don't even know where you are going and only rely on navigation broadcasts, then once it fails, you will have no backup. On the contrary, studying maps in advance can not only improve navigation skills, but also improve the ability to observe locations.

In addition, Mr. McKinley also proposed that schools should offer navigation courses to teach students the ability to read maps. Experiments have shown that planning a route on a map in advance is clearly superior.
