Can be driven all over the country, 10 times safer than human driving, all models of Jiyue will be equipped with Baidu ASD for the first time

Everything is AI, and intelligent driving technology deeply empowered by big models will become the focus of a new round of competition in smart cars. The Jiyue car robot, based on Baidu's AI big model ecosystem empowerment, is the first to get this "key", allowing pure visual high-level intelligent driving to have the "brain intuition" of a racing driver, once again refreshing the intelligent driving travel experience.

On May 15, Baidu Apollo held Apollo Day 2024 in Wuhan. Its most advanced intelligent driving technology products ushered in a new upgrade, named "ASD" (Apollo Self-Driving), and will be mass-produced and launched on all models of Jiyue. In the future, Jiyue's high-end intelligent driving will fully upgrade ASD, continue to evolve month by month, and bring users a new intelligent driving experience.

At the event, Baidu Apollo released the world's first large model Apollo ADFM (Autonomous Driving Foundation Model) that supports L4 autonomous driving. Large models drive autonomous driving to achieve technological leaps. Baidu Apollo ADFM reconstructs autonomous driving based on large model technology, which can take into account the safety and generalization of technology, making it more than 10 times safer than human drivers and achieving coverage of complex scenes in the entire city.

It is precisely by relying on the application practice of the large-scale autonomous driving model that Baidu Carrot Run has conquered the complex road scenes in Wuhan, achieved full coverage of the entire city of Wuhan, and provided convenient unmanned travel services for nearly half of the citizens of Wuhan. At the same time, in the field of L2+ intelligent driving, ANP3, the only pure visual urban pilot assisted driving product in China, will also fully apply the large-scale autonomous driving model Apollo ADFM, and upgrade to ASD (Apollo Self-Driving). It will soon be mass-produced and launched in the entire series of Jiyue models, and will be the first to realize intelligent driving that can be driven across the country and anywhere with Baidu Maps.

Xu Baoqiang, general manager of Baidu's autonomous driving technology department, said: "Based on the autonomous driving big model, we already have the technical capabilities required for city-level autonomous driving travel services. Facing a new city, it only takes half a year to complete the preparation of full autonomous driving travel services across the entire area. In the future, this verification time will be further shortened, and autonomous driving will be available wherever there is Baidu Maps. The vision of changing the way people travel is within reach."

With more than a decade of R&D and innovation in AI technology, Baidu is not only the world's leading AI big model company, but also a leader in autonomous driving technology. As of April, Baidu Apollo's autonomous driving mileage has exceeded 100 million kilometers, and there has never been a major accident involving casualties. Turnip Run has completed more than 6 million trips across the country.

Based on Baidu Apollo's advanced autonomous driving atomic capabilities and safety system, Jiyue 01 has become the only smart car in China and one of the only two in the world to achieve mass production of "pure vision" technology solutions, firmly ranking first in the industry. At present, nearly 90% of users are using Jiyue PPA intelligent driving, with a cumulative mileage of more than 1.8 million kilometers, equivalent to 45 laps around the earth. In addition, Jiyue 01 also won the Beijing Station Championship of the 2nd China Intelligent Driving Competition City NOA Challenge.

The Jiyue robot is about to be renewed again. The OTA V1.5.0 version will be fully pushed on May 18, and PPA intelligent driving will cover the complex urban roads in 105 cities.
