Mercedes-Benz to compete in Formula E in 2018

Mercedes-Benz is joining the Formula E Championship. Today, the German luxury car manufacturer announced that it will retain a seat in the 2018 Formula E Championship, and the number of participating teams in Formula E will be expanded from 10 to 12. The Formula E Championship was founded in 2014 and is an electric formula racing competition held on the streets of major cities around the world. Once this "young" event was launched, it attracted world-renowned automobile manufacturers including Renault, Jaguar, BMW, Audi, Citroen and Faraday. In addition, Nissan and Porsche have expressed interest in participating in the Formula E Championship.

Mercedes-Benz's announcement of its participation in the competition has a different meaning. Mercedes-Benz has been participating in various racing championships since the last century, especially in the world-renowned Formula 1, where the Mercedes-Benz team has won the championship in the last two events in cooperation with the famous British driver Lewis Hamilton.
