Mercedes-Benz shows off its all-electric truck, which is impressive but has a range of only 200 km

In July this year, Daimler released the latest Mercedes-Benz Urban eTruck electric concept truck, and plans to use eTruck to replace the current short-distance diesel trucks.

However, the truck design released by Mercedes-Benz before was still in the concept stage, and only included renderings, without showing the specific style of the body and the cab design. Now in Hannover, Germany, Mercedes-Benz officially released the complete renderings of this Urban eTruck electric truck, including the interior design, which is full of futuristic feeling.

Judging from the pictures, the design of this electric truck draws on the concept of Future Truck 2025, and some more angular treatments are made on the edges. Since this is an electric truck, there is no need to design an air intake grille on the front. Mercedes-Benz uses a whole LED display to replace the front design, which can be used to display the logo and some driving information. Of course, it can also be connected to the cab, roof, cargo box and other parts. In addition, the side skirts of Urban eTruck also adopt aerodynamic design, and there are many cameras distributed around the body.

The Urban eTruck electric truck adopts a rear motor and battery design, with 335 horsepower and 737 pounds of torque. According to Mercedes-Benz, the maximum load can reach 28.6 tons, which is enough to compete with diesel trucks of the same level. In addition, the Urban eTruck is equipped with a fully electric system, a large-scale lithium-ion battery pack of 212 kWh, and a range of 200 kilometers.

It is reported that this Urban eTruck electric truck has three driving modes, namely "automatic", "energy saving" and "performance" modes, and multiple trucks are also connected. It only needs a driver and a fleet manager in the cab of the first truck, and then the driving status of the entire fleet can be monitored through a tablet computer, and all loads, mileage and routes can be checked. At the same time, cargo distribution will be carried out according to the operation data of the entire fleet to ensure maximum operation efficiency.

Mercedes-Benz said that the Urban eTruck concept electric truck will be commercially available within ten years. In addition to the Urban eTruck, Daimler has also launched another slightly smaller all-electric Fuso truck version, which has begun testing in parts of Europe.
