iPhone 7 copied Note7, causing tragedy, but Apple fans said not to jump to conclusions
According to technology media 9to5mac, a video of an iPhone 7 Plus phone catching fire has spread rapidly. The video is also accompanied by some pictures of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 catching fire some time ago. However, we cannot draw a conclusion just because of a fire incident. This is not the first time that an iPhone has caught fire, and it will not be the last iPhone to catch fire. But it is important to look at these accidents from what perspective. We need to pay attention to the cause of the fire. First, in some accident investigations, the cause of the fire is very obvious-using dangerous third-party chargers, most of which come from manufacturers without production qualifications. Last year, 400 counterfeit Apple chargers were tested for safety, and the results showed that 99% of the charging was not safe, which is an astonishing result. Other causes of fire include placing the phone in a car in hot weather and the battery being damaged by strong impact. Second, even if there is no obvious cause, the lithium battery itself has a failure rate like any other component. This rate is quite low, about one in ten million. But if there are more than 1 billion active iOS devices, based on the failure rate, we can expect that more than 100 Apple devices may spontaneously combust worldwide. As for the Samsung Note 7, it is not just a few devices that spontaneously combusted. - Spontaneous combustion can be predicted from the failure rate, but it is not that spontaneous combustion always occurs. So simply comparing spontaneous combustion may not be worth recommending. Unless the iPhone 7 Plus also spontaneously combusts at a rate higher than the failure rate, then this spontaneous combustion may not be worth watching. Lest any Android fans accuse me of having any double standards here, I say that I took exactly the same attitude towards the initial spontaneous combustion of Samsung last year. Of course, we now know that the Note 7 is not safe, and can even be said to be dangerous - but I also hope that we will not draw conclusions from a single fire incident.
