Recently, Tesla China staff said that due to the exchange rate, Tesla will raise the prices of its models from November 22, which will be announced soon. An insider told the Securities Daily reporter that Tesla sales staff have recently urged customers who plan to buy cars to hurry up and buy cars because of the exchange rate issue. From November 22, the prices of all Tesla models may increase by 5-8 percentage points. In addition, Tesla's existing owners and Tesla owners who complete orders before January 1, 2017 and complete delivery before April 1, 2017 will use supercharging for free for life. Vehicles ordered after January 1, 2017 can charge 400 kWh (about 1,600 kilometers) for free at supercharging stations each year. Tesla will charge for the part exceeding 400 kWh. But even so, the sales staff emphasized that this fee will still be much lower than the energy cost of fuel vehicles. At the same time, every Tesla car will be equipped with supercharging hardware as always. The reporter learned from Tesla that due to different electricity prices, the charging price will vary depending on the time and region, and the details of this fee adjustment will be released within the year. Tesla guarantees consumers that Tesla's super charging network will never be for profit. Tesla also affirmed that existing car owners and Tesla owners who completed orders before January 1, 2017 and completed delivery before April 1, 2017 will not be affected by this fee adjustment. In fact, this is not the first time Tesla has raised prices. In September last year, Tesla also raised the price of Model S due to the impact of exchange rates. The three models 70D, 85D, and P85D increased by 33,800 yuan, 38,900 yuan, and 47,000 yuan respectively. The final official guide price was 718,800 yuan, 816,800 yuan, and 1 million yuan. In October this year, Tesla slightly increased the prices of some of its Model S and Model X due to configuration, among which the price of Model X 75D was increased by 25,000 yuan. Data shows that global vehicle deliveries more than doubled year-on-year to 24,500 in the third quarter of 2016, including 15,800 Model S and 8,700 Model X SUVs. Tesla said another 5,500 vehicles have been delivered to customers and will be included in the third quarter's sales data. It also reiterated its previous forecast of producing 5,000 vehicles in the second half of this year, saying that sales and production capacity in the fourth quarter will be the same or slightly higher than in the third quarter. In the first half of this year, the company delivered nearly 30,000 vehicles. As Musk's bet on the mass market, the $35,000 Model 3 is scheduled to be launched next year. After accepting reservations for the Model 3 this year, strong demand prompted the company to advance its annual sales target of 500,000 vehicles by two years to 2018.
