When the haze season comes every year, air purifiers become the first choice for consumers, but can the purifiers you buy really "purify the air"? "There are 5 million air purifiers sold in my country each year, with an annual growth rate of 20% to 30%, and 30% of them are substandard." Liu Qing, deputy secretary-general of the China Consumers Association, said at the "Indoor Air Purifier Consumer Education Seminar" held by the China Consumers Association on the 14th that the uneven quality of air purifier products and the variety of product promotions have increased the difficulty for consumers to choose. Survey: 1/3 of enterprises have not implemented the new national standard "At present, the pass rate of random inspections of air purifiers is only 70%, which is a relatively low level in the field of home appliances." Lu Jianguo, director of the Clean Technology Institute of the China Household Electrical Appliance Research Institute, revealed a data that surprised the participants. "When consumers buy purifiers, they must pay attention to what standards the products implement. Some manufacturers do not mark their products or cannot explain it, so it is best not to buy them," Lu Jianguo said. After the new national standard for air purifiers was issued, the survey found that one-third of companies still did not produce according to the standard, and about 10% of companies did not clearly mark their products. "Consumers buy air purifiers mainly to deal with smog and formaldehyde, so they should focus on the performance indicators of the purifiers." In Lu Jianguo's opinion, consumers cannot understand too professional data, so the most practical method is to classify purifiers. He revealed that the relevant departments are considering classifying air purifiers by performance, such as how many stars and corresponding prices correspond to each level, so that consumers can make clear choices. Problem: After-sales service "70% chip" is not guaranteed "An air purifier is 30% device and 70% filter. The filter of an air purifier must be replaced in time, but many consumers now ignore the maintenance and replacement of the filter," said Liu Qing, deputy secretary-general of the China Consumers Association. The association's survey found that there are currently some issues in the purifier field that consumers have strong reactions to: first, purifier companies are short-lived, and there are "purifier orphans" who cannot buy filters and other consumables after purchasing the products; second, products are rushed into the market with false publicity and there is a phenomenon of hyping concepts; third, after-sales service is lagging behind, and the purifier products in the hands of consumers do not receive effective service. Some purifiers have reduced purification effects and become decorations, and some even become secondary pollution sources. Dai Zizhu, a researcher at the China Indoor Environment Purification and Governance Professional Committee, pointed out that due to different usage environments, consumers should choose products that suit their own environment, such as products with strong filtering capabilities based on the main pollution sources in their area. In addition, consumers should consider the effects of long-term use and try to choose "all-round" products rather than "biased" products. Reminder: Four Dos and Three Don’ts when Buying The China Consumers Association has set out four "guidelines" for consumers to choose and purchase: first, products from regular merchants must be purchased through regular channels; second, products that comply with the new national standards must be purchased and performance indicators must be clearly marked; third, attention must be paid to the promotion of formaldehyde removal efficiency, medical grade, antibacterial and sterilization, and a third-party professional agency test report must be issued; fourth, the product must be selected based on the applicable area and purification needs. For example, in order to remove formaldehyde and other pollution caused by decoration, it is recommended to choose a formaldehyde removal air purifier product with a CCM value as high as possible. Three things not to do: First, don’t choose products whose filters are difficult to replace. Second, don’t choose products that make a lot of noise, as this will affect your comfort, especially when used at night. Third, don’t choose products that consume a lot of energy. New purifier does not require filter replacement Senior Engineer Xian Caijun, deputy director of the China Indoor Air Purification and Governance Professional Committee, introduced that general air purifiers can quickly purify the air mainly through high-efficiency filters (HEPA), and the filters must be replaced regularly and in a timely manner, otherwise secondary pollution will occur due to the accumulation of large amounts of pollutants. In fact, the use of electrostatic dust collection modules can also quickly remove PM2.5. This module can be taken out regularly for cleaning and reuse, such as brands such as Yuanda, Beiang, and Shengtaibao, which avoids secondary pollution. Among them, the Shengtaibao purifier also uses a self-cleaning water film dust collection electrode, which realizes the automatic cleaning, collection, decomposition and conversion of pollutants into nutrients for green plants.
