A:

This round of cold wave weather process has affected my country from northwest to east since November 27. Northwest China, Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang and other places have been the first to feel the power of the cold air, with rain, snow and cooling weather.

On November 28, parts of eastern Xinjiang, Gansu, northern Qinghai, central and eastern Inner Mongolia, and western Heilongjiang experienced a temperature drop of 6 to 10℃, with the local temperature drop exceeding 12℃; light to moderate snow fell in northeastern Inner Mongolia, central and northeastern Heilongjiang, and heavy snow fell in Yichun, Heilongjiang; parts of Gansu, northeastern Qinghai, southwestern Shaanxi, and Changji, Xinjiang saw 1 to 4 mm of snow, rain or sleet, and the local precipitation in Qitai, Changji, Xinjiang was 7 mm; Northwest China, western and northern North China, central and southern Heilongjiang and other places saw gusts of 6 to 8, and locally 9 to 10.

The impact range of this round of cold wave weather process is still relatively wide, but the main force of the cold air is not that strong. The temperature drop, wind force and rain and snow intensity in most areas of central and eastern China are significantly weaker than last time. It has the characteristics of a wide impact range, fast system movement speed, weak temperature drop, weak rain and snow intensity, and heavy snowfall in some areas.

Snowfall is still mainly concentrated in the northeast, and although the water vapor conditions are weaker than last time, there is still significant snowfall in the eastern region. The low-level water vapor conditions in North China are poor, and the cold air moves quickly, so the precipitation is generally not large, mainly in the form of rain.

Quick freeze in the south and blizzard in the northeast

How intense will the cooling, rain and snow be when the cold wave hits? How long will it last?

A:

It is expected that the cold air will continue to move eastward and affect my country in the next two days, bringing strong winds, cooling, rain and snow to the central and eastern regions. Starting from December 1, the impact of this round of cold wave weather process will tend to end.

It is expected that from 14:00 on November 29 to 08:00 on December 1, the temperature in central and northern Shaanxi, central and western North China, most of Northeast China, most of Huanghuai, eastern Jianghan, Jianghuai, central and eastern Jiangnan, eastern Sichuan Basin, western Guizhou, and northeastern South China will drop by 6-8℃. The temperature in the eastern part of Northeast China, eastern Huanghuai, eastern Jianghuai, and eastern Jiangnan will drop by 10℃, and the temperature in southeastern Heilongjiang, eastern Jilin, and northeastern Liaoning will drop by 12℃.

As the cold front moves southward, many places in central and eastern China will also experience "quick freezing". On the morning of December 1, the lowest temperature of 0°C will be located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to the northern part of the Sichuan Basin. The lowest temperature in southern Jiangnan to northern South China will drop to around 4°C. The public should pay attention to adding clothes to keep warm when traveling.

In the next two days, parts of southeastern Northwest China, North China, and Northeast China will have light to moderate rain and snow or sleet, and parts of eastern Heilongjiang, eastern Jilin, and eastern Liaoning will have heavy to blizzards, with local heavy blizzards or extremely heavy blizzards. It is expected that from 14:00 on November 29 to 14:00 on November 30, northeastern Liaoning, eastern Jilin, southeastern Heilongjiang, and other places will have heavy snow, and some areas will have blizzards. The new snow depth in some of the above-mentioned areas is 5 to 10 cm, and locally it may reach more than 15 cm.

In the next two days, there will be northerly winds of 4-5 with gusts of 6-8 in the central and eastern parts of Northwest China, North China, Northeast China, Huanghuai, Jianghan, Jianghuai, and northern Jiangnan. There will be winds of 7-8 with gusts of 9-10 in the eastern and southern seas of my country. It is necessary to guard against the adverse effects of strong winds on maritime traffic operations.

Northeast China guards against the impact of snowfall

A:

The rain and snow will not last long. The main snowfall period in Northeast China is from the night of November 29 to November 30. From December 1, precipitation in northern China will gradually weaken. Heavy to heavy snowfall will be the main snowfall in eastern Heilongjiang and eastern Jilin, which overlaps with the last snowfall area. It is necessary to prevent the adverse effects of snow accumulation and road icing on transportation, production and life.

The weather will warm up after this round of cold wave, but the amplitude will be small. Cold air will still be frequent in the next 10 days, and another cold air process is expected to affect the second half of this week.

Affected by the cold wave, the temperature in most parts of central and eastern my country will continue to drop. The public needs to take measures to keep warm and prevent colds and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The roads are slippery in rainy and snowy weather, especially in the northeast where there is significant snow accumulation.
