A cluster outbreak occurred among bus crew members! Will there be a large-scale COVID-19 outbreak in Beijing?

From 15:00 on May 12 to 15:00 on May 13, Beijing added 51 local cases of COVID-19 infection (infected persons 1067 to 1117), of which 40 were controlled personnel and 11 were screened in the society, including 3 bus crew members at bus stations and 2 courier company employees.

There are three cluster outbreaks in Beijing recently that deserve attention. According to the Beijing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report:

Cluster outbreak related to crew members at bus terminal No. 534: There are currently 3 infected cases, and epidemiological investigation and tracing are in progress.

China Railway 11th Bureau Group Co., Ltd.-related clustered epidemic: From 15:00 on May 12 to 15:00 on May 13, 19 new infections were reported. The three suspected related infections reported on May 12 were determined to be related to them through epidemiological investigation. Except for infected persons 1082 and 1090, the rest of the 19 new infections were from control personnel. A total of 41 infections have been reported, involving 4 districts, including 31 in Haidian District, 8 in Fangshan District, and 1 each in Daxing District and Xicheng District. It is expected that there will be the possibility of subsequent cases in the future.

On the evening of May 13, Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, posted on his personal Weibo that the possibility of this wave of epidemic in Beijing evolving into a large-scale epidemic is very small.
