The stock price surged 18%. Can Tesla break through the bankruptcy barrier with the help of the Shanghai Super Factory?

Recently, Tesla released its Q3 financial report, with total revenue of US$6.303 billion and net profit attributable to common shareholders of US$143 million, which was much better than the net loss of US$408 million in the previous quarter. Compared with the industry's previous forecast of performance losses, Tesla's unexpected profit boosted its stock price performance. After the financial report was released, Tesla's stock price rose 18% to break through US$300.

In addition, Tesla delivered 97,000 vehicles in Q3, a year-on-year increase of 16% and a month-on-month increase of 2%. Classified into specific models, Model 3 deliveries were 79,600, a year-on-year increase of 42%, while Model S and X deliveries fell 37% year-on-year.

Previously, Tesla set a target of 100,000 deliveries. Although the increase in deliveries this time has boosted its stock price, in the long run, Tesla still needs to urgently solve its production capacity problem.

At present, the first line of Tesla's super factory in Shanghai has officially been powered on and trial production has begun. Regarding the production capacity expectations of the Shanghai factory, Tesla previously stated that it would reach 1,000 Model 3s per week. If the Shanghai factory project goes smoothly, it will greatly help Tesla's next quarterly financial report performance.
