In the past two years, people have paid unprecedented attention to the health and safety of life and drinking water. With the popularization and improvement of health awareness, people's drinking habits have gradually changed. From barreled water, bottled water, to today's water purifiers, we can see that the pursuit of healthy drinking water has become a fashionable trend, and it can be said that the situation is encouraging. At present, the overall situation of my country's water purifier industry is good. The entire water purifier industry is showing a momentum of rapid development, and the market prospects are brighter with the promotion of manufacturers. According to industry experts, the market capacity of domestic water purifiers will exceed the 100 billion mark within five years. But there is a saying that "three out of ten fasts are fake", and the hot market has also exposed some problems. Quality has repeatedly failed to pass the test. In recent years, the annual growth rate of China's water purifier market capacity has reached 50%. It is estimated that by 2019, the national household water purifier market penetration rate will reach 20% to 30%. However, behind the rapid growth of the water purifier market, many problems such as uneven brands, complex installation, and difficult maintenance have also been shrouding the entire industry. "This one sells for less than 100 yuan, while another one sells for nearly 5,000 yuan. They look similar in appearance, and it is really hard to tell the good from the bad." Recently, after visiting the market, the reporter found that there are many brands of water purifiers with a wide range of prices. Among them, the cheapest one only costs 196 yuan and can be directly installed on the faucet for use; the most expensive one is a central intelligent water purifier, which costs nearly 10,000 yuan. In order to attract customers to buy, merchants also promote health concepts such as active and rich in oxygen ions, and propaganda such as "beauty", "freckle removal" and "cancer resistance" are common. In a water purifier specialty store, the clerk introduced to the reporter an RO water purifier priced at 4,998 yuan, saying that its "filtration technology is the most advanced, can remove 99% of impurities, and the water produced is the healthiest." Seeing that the reporter thought the price was a bit high, the clerk introduced an ultra-filtration water purifier priced at 998 yuan, and said that the filtered water is rich in minerals and is good for the body. In addition to the price confusion, the quality of water purifiers has also been questioned. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine once conducted spot checks on water purifiers from 33 companies across the country and found that 40% of them were unqualified. Lu Jianguo, director of the Health Appliances Analysis and Testing Center of the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute, said that the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has organized three national supervision and random inspections since 2014. The results showed that the qualified rate of water purifiers did not exceed 70%, which is a relatively low level in the home appliance industry. An industry insider revealed that after disassembling a 2,800 yuan RO water purifier, it was found that the accessories were a melt-blown filter element with a factory price of 1.8 yuan, a compressed activated carbon filter element with a price of 3 yuan, two granular activated carbon filter elements with a price of no more than 3.5 yuan, and a 60 yuan RO membrane. "In addition to the low-end accessories, some merchants dare to sell without a 'water approval' (sanitary license for drinking water hygiene and safety products)." Lack of supervision in the industry It is understood that there are currently more than 3,000 companies producing water purification equipment in China, and there are countless brands, but the quality of water purifiers is uneven, and there are phenomena such as inflated prices and random reporting of efficacy. First, there are standards, but they are difficult to implement. At present, there are GB/T30307 national standards and QB/T4143 and QB/T4144 industry standards. The standards are there, but they have not been widely adopted. Most companies always try to circumvent the standard requirements, and some companies do not implement the standards on the grounds that they do not know. Second, there is supervision, but it is difficult to cover. At present, the water purifier industry is in a state of being scattered. Although there are more than 4,000 domestic water purifier brands, only a handful of them can become national brands. Behind the prosperity of the industry, there are a large number of small enterprises driven by interests, which invisibly increases the difficulty of supervision and law enforcement. Third, there is technology, but it is difficult to distinguish. The biggest problem with water purifiers is the poor experience. It is difficult for consumers to distinguish between good and bad by appearance and price. Although there are water purification testing institutions, there are few in number and expensive in price. Enterprises are unwilling to test, so that some products that do not meet the standard requirements are also put on the market for sale. Fourth, the psychology of consumers favoring foreign brands has given some illegal businesses an opportunity to take advantage of and make huge profits under the banner of "foreign names". Lu Jianguo said that it is difficult to manage thousands of small workshop-style enterprises by government-led supervision alone. Some enterprises have slipped through the net and have problems such as exaggerating efficacy and false propaganda. He believes that consumer participation in market supervision is the best way to regulate. Use with attention to safety The main function of a water purifier is to improve water quality and remove harmful substances such as residual chlorine, heavy metals, and suspended solids in water. However, using an unqualified water purifier will pollute the water source. Lu Jianguo gave several suggestions on how to choose a qualified water purifier. First, check the certificates. It depends on whether the dealer's sales certificates (business license, organization code certificate, tax registration certificate, etc.) are complete. In addition, whether there is a health permit issued by the national health department for drinking water hygiene and safety. Second, understand the water quality. In areas with good water quality, you can buy a filter water purifier; in areas with serious pollution such as chlorine and heavy taste in the water, or in families with direct drinking needs, you can buy a reverse osmosis water purifier. The third is to look at the filter. In the high-hardness water in northern my country and the limestone areas in the south, the calcium and magnesium ion content in the water is high, so you should choose a high-grade filter water purifier with an ion exchange resin filter. In areas where the water contains heavy chlorine, color and odor, you can choose a household water purifier with a large activated carbon load. Fourth, look at the wastewater rate. For similar water purifiers, try to choose one with a low wastewater rate.
