Following in the footsteps of NIO, WM Motor announced the recall of 1,282 2020 Willmaster electric vehicles

Although the lithium battery energy of new energy vehicles is cleaner and has a higher energy conversion rate than the gasoline energy of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, the active characteristics of lithium batteries also mean that if manufacturers fail to design products perfectly, it is easy to cause spontaneous combustion accidents.

In the past month, four unexplained spontaneous combustion accidents occurred in the products of the new car-making force WM Motor. In response, WM Motor said that the main reason was that the battery cells of the same batch of vehicles were mixed with impurities during the production process, which caused short circuits in extreme cases, resulting in spontaneous combustion. Therefore, WM Motor said that it would proactively recall 1,282 2020 Willmaster electric vehicles with battery cells from the same batch and replace the battery cells for these vehicles free of charge.

Coincidentally, in 2019, after a series of fire accidents, NIO also announced the recall of 4,803 NIO ES8 electric vehicles. Subsequently, NIO experienced a major shock. However, with the beginning of 2020, NIO received 7 billion in financing and finally survived the "spontaneous combustion incident." I wonder if WM Motor can turn the disaster into a blessing like NIO.
