Tesla's Shanghai factory has begun exporting Model Y vehicles to other countries and regions. According to statistics, in July this year, the Shanghai factory exported a total of 8,210 Model Ys to Europe, which brought a good start to the third quarter. In July this year, Tesla's Shanghai factory exported a total of 24,347 electric vehicles, a month-on-month increase of 385%. This is the first time that Tesla's Shanghai factory's export volume has exceeded 20,000 vehicles. Among the exported products, there are 16,137 Model 3s and 8,210 Model Ys. At the end of July, Tesla announced that the Shanghai Super Factory has been transformed into Tesla's main export hub and will become an important driving force for the company to create a new annual delivery record this year. Tesla originally planned to build a super factory in Berlin, Germany to meet the market demand for Model Y in Europe, but the plan was delayed because the German government did not issue a construction permit. Therefore, the Shanghai factory took on a large part of the task of filling the production gap. In July this year, driven by the Shanghai factory, Tesla China's total car production reached 32,968 units, a year-on-year increase of 199%. Data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers also showed that Tesla's sales in China in July reached 11,041 units, making it the leading electric vehicle manufacturer in terms of sales. Currently, the Shanghai plant has achieved an annual production of 450,000 Model Y and Model 3 vehicles, despite the challenges faced by the supply chain.
