Reuters reported on the 26th that an Indian court document showed that a court in the Indian capital New Delhi has summoned Alibaba founder Jack Ma for a lawsuit. An Indian employee who once worked for Alibaba's UC Browser has sued, claiming he was fired for objecting to "censorship" and "fake news" content on the company's app. Court documents show that a civil judge at a local court in Gurugram, a satellite city of India's capital New Delhi, has issued summonses to Alibaba, Jack Ma, and more than a dozen individuals or companies, requiring them to appear in court on July 29 or through their lawyers. In response, Alibaba said that UC has always been firmly committed to serving the Indian market and protecting the welfare of local employees, and its policies are in compliance with local laws. Because the matter is still under trial, no further comment can be made on this issue. Another person close to Alibaba revealed that Jack Ma has not received the subpoena yet. |
