Zhilian Research Institute: Talent demand and development environment of the new energy industry

Recently, Zhilian Research Institute released the "Report on Talent Demand and Development Environment in the New Energy Industry" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report"), which reflects the recruitment and job-seeking situation in the new energy industry from the aspects of industry talent supply and demand, salary and benefits, and work experience of professionals, brings inspiration for the optimal allocation of industry human resources, and provides data reference for relevant institutions.

According to Zhaopin.com data, in the first five months of this year, the number of new energy industry job openings increased by 64.4% year-on-year, 54.4 percentage points higher than the industry as a whole. At the same time, the new energy industry recruitment competition index was 62.3, which means that 62.3 resumes were received for each job opening, which is higher than the industry-wide competition index of 47.2.

In terms of positions, the demand for general workers/operators accounts for 5.3% of the total number of positions, ranking first. The second is sales consultants and sales team managers, accounting for 2.8% and 2.4% respectively. The demand for quality inspection, electrical, process and other engineers is relatively high. In terms of enterprise size, new energy enterprises with a scale of 100-499 people have the largest recruitment demand, accounting for 32.2% of the positions, which is higher than the 27.8% of the whole industry. The number of positions in enterprises with a scale of 500-999 people (10.6%) and 1000-9999 people (23.1%) account for a higher proportion than the whole industry. In terms of educational requirements, the number of undergraduate and master's degree recruitment positions in new energy enterprises accounts for 38.5% and 3%, which is significantly higher than the 23.2% and 1.3% of the whole industry.

According to Zhaopin.com data, among the top 20 cities with the largest number of new energy industry positions, Beijing ranks first with 5.4% of the positions, followed by Hefei, Shenzhen and Suzhou, accounting for 4.7%, 4.6% and 3.5% respectively. In terms of the growth rate of the number of positions, Hefei ranks first with a growth rate of 135.2%, followed by Xiamen and Changzhou, with growth rates of 90% and 72.4% respectively.

The salary of new energy positions is also higher than the industry average. According to Zhaopin.com statistics, the average salary for new energy positions is 10,867 yuan per month, higher than the industry average of 9,865 yuan per month. Among them, energy/mining project practitioners have the highest salary, which is 38,490 yuan per month. The data also shows that among the top 20 skills in new energy salary, algorithm ranks first, with an average salary of 20,116 yuan per month; followed by power supply related skills, with a monthly salary of 19,804 yuan. In the year-end bonus, 70.6% of new energy professionals can get a year-end bonus, which is higher than the industry average of 62.6%. More than 80% of the respondents in new energy operation positions said they received a year-end bonus, and more than 30% said that the year-end bonus was between 10,001 and 50,000 yuan, which is much higher than the industry average of 13.7%.

New energy has also become a "potential industry" in the minds of professionals. Survey data shows that among all respondents, 58.2% believe that new energy is the industry with the greatest development potential, ranking first among all industries. As many as 76.2% of respondents working in new energy believe that the industry has development potential, and 53.9% of practitioners are confident in the development of the industry.

The report points out that due to the combined influence of policy dividends, technological changes, market revitalization and other factors, the new energy industry is developing with vitality. At present, the recruitment demand is strong, the industry salary is advantageous, and professionals are full of confidence in the industry. Based on the booming development prospects of the industry, job seekers can make career plans and application preparations based on their majors and interests.
