Overall performance of the new energy market

  • In September, pure electric vehicle sales were approximately 270,000 units, an increase of 188.5% year-on-year and 43.6% month-on-month; plug-in hybrid vehicle sales were approximately 57,000 units, an increase of 161.0% year-on-year and 7.8% month-on-month.
  • In 2021, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles reached 1.786 million units, a year-on-year increase of 194.4%.

Major event for new energy enterprises: Hyundai Motor Group releases "Hydrogen Energy Vision 2040" on Hydrogen Day

  • On September 7, Hyundai Motor Group held its Hydrogen Wave global online press conference. At this important press conference for the new era of "zero carbon emissions", Hyundai Motor Group proposed a plan to popularize hydrogen energy in transportation and various fields by 2040 through the introduction of new technologies, and officially released its future vision for hydrogen energy and a hydrogen energy society.

Major event for new energy enterprises: Tesla's Yunnan-Tibet line supercharging stations are fully connected

  • On September 7, Tesla's official Weibo account announced that the Yunnan-Tibet Line has been fully opened. The route is 2,716 kilometers long, starting from Kunming, Yunnan, passing through Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La, and Meili before entering Tibet. There are 14 super charging stations and 1 destination charging station along the way.

  • On September 8, BYD officially released e-Platform 3.0 and positioned it as "a globally open and shared basic solution for the next generation of smart electric vehicles." BYD Group Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu compared e-Platform 3.0 to "the cradle of the next generation of electric vehicles," and the evolution of e-Platform 3.0 will enable BYD to gain greater development space in the field of pure electric vehicles.

New energy enterprise event: NIO releases high-speed battery swap network layout plan

  • On September 21, NIO released a high-speed battery swap network layout plan, which will build a high-speed battery swap network of "five vertical and three horizontal four metropolitan areas" before the Spring Festival in 2022. The high-speed battery swap network covers many domestic expressways and aims to provide users with a more convenient and comfortable inter-city travel experience.

Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Recommended Catalog of the 9th Batch of New Energy Vehicles in 2021

  • On September 30, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 9th batch of recommended new energy vehicle catalogues for 2021. A total of 242 new energy vehicle models were selected, including 197 new energy models that meet the 2021 product technical requirements, 45 other new energy models, and 52 new energy passenger car models.
