iPhone 7 performance test: A10 processor beats all other processors
We have experienced the powerful performance of iPhone 7 A10 processor many times, and now the authoritative hardware website AnandTedch has also released their detailed tests on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Let's take a look. The A10 Fusion processor is manufactured using TSMC's 16nm FinFET process, 64-bit architecture (core codename Hurricane), and integrates four cores for the first time, divided into two large and two small, with a maximum frequency of 2.34GHz. The official claims that the performance is up to 40% higher than A9. There are six cores in the GPU, but the specific architecture is still uncertain. It may still be the PowerVR GT7600 in A9, it may be an enhanced version of PowerVR GT7600 Plus, or it may be a new customized version based on PowerVR architecture. Apple claims that the performance of A10 GPU can be improved by up to 50% over the previous generation. In the Basemark OS II project, iPhone 7 has an all-round improvement over the previous generation, including 31% system performance, 78% memory performance, 57% graphics performance, 28% Web performance, and 48% comprehensive performance . Some of them have expanded the advantages of iPhone 6S, and some have regained their peak. Web performance tests are also outstanding, with Kraken and JetStream having a 35-40% improvement, and WebXPRT having little change, but Apple is invincible here. In the 3DMark test, the graphics, physics and total scores have all increased by more than 40% compared to the iPhone 6S series, but while the graphics performance is unbeatable among mobile phones, the latter two are relatively average, mainly because the A10 CPU has a relatively small number of cores, which is a disadvantage. The performance of GFXBench Manhattan off-screen project increased by 50% , which is in line with Apple's propaganda again. It is also close to the iPad Pro 9.7 inches and more than 30% ahead of Snapdragon 820. From the change of frame rate, iPhone 7 is not under much pressure. It was around 60FPS for a short time in the early stage, and then stabilized at around 50FPS. iPhone 7 Plus is not so good, and it quickly dropped sharply to 25-30FPS. In terms of storage, iPhone 6S was the first to introduce NVMe, and no other mobile phone has done it so far. Naturally, iPhone 7 is also very powerful. Although there is no obvious improvement, it is basically just normal fluctuations, and Android phones are still far behind. Finally, let’s take a look at the battery life test, I won’t say much more.
