8.18 The bumpy love stories of Internet tycoons

"Getting promoted, getting a raise, becoming a CEO, marrying a beautiful, rich woman" has become the standard for people to judge "the peak of life" nowadays, but the reality is that it is often difficult to have both the throne and the beauty. Although the Internet has created many legendary successes, there are still a few IT industry leaders who have not been able to achieve both career and love, and some even have a bumpy road in love and are displaced.

Liu Qiangdong's three love affairs

Last night, a piece of news attracted a lot of attention - Liu Qiangdong and his girlfriend "Milk Tea MM" broke up. It is said that the source is quite reliable, so everyone lamented that the age gap is a problem after all. However, early this morning, "Milk Tea" Zhang Zetian posted a Weibo showing the roses sent by Liu Qiangdong and the offer she received, and she was very happy. Liu Qiangdong, who attended the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, was also slim and energetic, and his handsomeness was comparable to Li Yanhong. Xiao Nei felt that there was no sign of the two breaking up. Those netizens who expected JD.com to hold the "Boss lady ran away, the boss is not interested in business, 50% off promotion for all items" event will probably be disappointed.

This "age-gap love" is not easy to come by. After all, Xiaotian is just a girl who is not very worldly-wise, but her private life is now almost completely scrutinized by everyone. It is no wonder that Liu Qiangdong lamented that he did not protect Xiaotian well when their relationship was exposed. Dong Ge's love life was not easy either. In his early years, he started a business in Zhongguancun and set up a counter, but was not understood by his girlfriend and family. The couple eventually went their separate ways. He was so deeply in love that he even named his e-commerce website after (Gong Xiao) Jing (Liu Qiang) Donglai. Well, he did not choose the name "Xiao Qiang", which shows that he really misses the good old days. However, on the day when JD IPO rang the bell, some short-sighted media reporters actually mistook the investor Ms. Xu Xin for Gong Xiaojing, which is really &%¥#@*

In addition to his bitter first love and his current beautiful "age-gap love", Liu Qiangdong also had a short and curious office romance. In July 2012, Liu Qiangdong posted a photo of tomatoes grown on his balcony on Weibo. Coincidentally, 11 minutes later, Zhuang Jia, the sales director of small appliances at JD.com, also posted a photo of tomatoes on the balcony on Weibo. The omnipotent netizens found that the photos were surprisingly similar through comparison, and inferred that the two may have been living together. What is even more incredible is that on the same day, JD.com launched a fresh food channel - mainly vegetables, fruits, fresh meat and eggs. Suddenly everyone thought that the so-called "tomato love" was to build momentum for JD.com's fresh food channel. Liu Qiangdong later said, "This is definitely not marketing. Zhuang Jia and I have been in love for three years." But in the following time, Zhuang Jia gradually faded out of the public eye, and this relationship seemed to end without success.

According to the current public taste, isn't Liu Qiangdong, a middle-aged uncle who has had several unsuccessful relationships and is successful in his career, the best match for a beautiful young girl who is not very experienced in the world? Therefore, Xiao Nei suggests that everyone should not pay too much attention to this "age-gap love". Instead of worrying about whether they are in love or not, it is better to work hard to move more bricks.

Look at this pair of brothers.

If Dong Ge's story is a story of many ups and downs, then the following pair of brothers in distress - Wang Wei of Tudou and Yang Haoran of Ganji (the elder brother of Yang Haoyong, the founder of Ganji) really suffered a love disaster. Let's start with Wang Wei. The "divorce of the century" not only cost Wang Wei a lot of money and energy, but also completely changed the development prospects of Tudou.

According to Xiao Nei's understanding, Wang Wei from Fujian was once just a "street boy" who drank, fought, and had nothing to do. In today's language, he was very artistic. But artistic young people generally yearn for freedom and are sentimental and sensitive. Wang Wei and Shanghai famous anchor Yang Lei fell in love at first sight, but after a flash marriage, irreconcilable conflicts in personality caused the marriage to fail within a year. But what Wang Wei never expected was that the nightmare for him and Tudou had just begun.

In November 2010, when Tudou.com was preparing to go public in the United States, Yang Lei suddenly asked to split Wang Wei's Tudou.com shares. Wang Wei spent a lot of energy to deal with the lawsuit, and finally settled the divorce case with a cash compensation of US$7 million. When he came back to restart the IPO, the capital market in the United States had already cooled down. Although Tudou was successfully listed in the end thanks to the careful preparation in the early stage, the golden opportunity could never be recovered.

The dismal situation of Tudou when it went public was in stark contrast to the lively scene of its competitor Youku when it went public. Tudou fell 12% on its first day of listing, with a market value of only US$710 million; while Youku soared 161% on its first day of listing, with a market value of more than US$3 billion. Youku later went further and further away, while Tudou, which was seriously injured, never recovered. On August 23, 2012, Youku acquired Tudou in one fell swoop, and Wang Wei withdrew sadly. Talking about this, Xiao Nei couldn't help but think darkly - was Yang Lei sent undercover? Of course, this is pure speculation, and the reason for Tudou's failure is more due to Wang Wei himself. Although Tudou promotes "Everyone is the director of life", Wang Wei failed to control his own destiny, and the literary youth was eventually hit hard by love.

Let's take a look at the story of Ganji's Yang Haoran. Compared with the sadness of the literary youth mentioned above, this is more about the helplessness of reality. In May 2012, a post about "Ganji.com CEO abandons his wife and children" caused a sensation on the Internet. The person involved, Yang Haoran, and his ex-wife accused each other online, causing an uproar in the industry. Yang Haoran and Wang Hongyan registered their marriage in 1995 and went to the United States to study, and his wife also went to accompany him. After completing their studies, Yang Haoran and his wife lived with their family near Silicon Valley in the United States. Inspired by Craigslist, the largest classified information website in the United States, Yang Haoran and his younger brother Yang Haoyong came up with the idea of starting a business in 2004. Later, Yang Haoyong returned to Beijing to start a business, while Yang Haoran stayed in Silicon Valley to provide remote technical support, and Ganji.com came into being.

As Ganji.com gradually improved, Yang Haoran and his wife's marriage was in crisis. In early 2009, the two were divorced by a US court, and the division of property would be handled separately. After Wang Hongyan applied, the domestic court confirmed that the US divorce judgment was effective in China. But surprisingly, five months after the two parties filed for divorce, Yang Haoran and Yang Haoyong signed an equity transfer agreement to transfer all of their shares to his younger brother. In addition, the domain name of Ganji.com, www.ganji.com, was also transferred to someone else. Obviously, Yang Haoran was trying to avoid the division of property by transferring it, but a husband and wife are bound by a hundred days of grace, and "not wanting to give a penny" is too heartless.

After learning about the situation, Wang Hongyan chose to sue her ex-husband and requested the Haidian Court to confirm that Yang Haoran's malicious transfer of equity and domain names was invalid. But unexpectedly, Yang Haoran went to the Xicheng Court to sue six days before the trial to confirm that their marriage was invalid (because the two did not personally obtain a marriage certificate that year), so the case was forced to suspend the trial. However, the court finally decided not to accept the case of invalid marriage in accordance with judicial interpretation, and the property division lawsuit between the two parties was temporarily shelved. Although Yang Haoran avoided losing property due to the divorce case like Wang Wei, Ganji's listing was still hindered. During this period, Ganji.com was even caught up in many rumors including the suspension of group buying, the resignation of senior executives, large-scale layoffs, and facing bankruptcy. Competitor 58.com successfully went public in the United States in October 2013. Now Ganji is unlikely to catch up with "this magical website" even if it "hurries up".

At this point, Xiao Nei unexpectedly discovered that the companies of the three big guys mentioned above all have a common investor - Ms. Xu Xin of Today Capital. Because of these stories, some people jokingly call her the "emotional killer" of Internet big guys. I heard that she is quite interested in the Beaver Home project recently, so Diao Ye must feel overwhelmed. Jokes aside, Xu Xin has always been well-received as an investor in the industry. She also said that for companies that are preparing to invest, if the boss is married, you must interview his wife, but "no one can guarantee that there will be no problems after the interview, and no one can guarantee that you can grow old together."

Sergey Brin

At the end of last year, Hugo Barra, former head of Google's Android business, joined Xiaomi as global vice president. Just when people were wondering how Lei Jun had managed to invite this "great god" three times and trying to get to the bottom of things, the complicated emotional entanglements within Google were exposed.

In August 2013, the US media revealed that Google co-founder Sergey Brin was divorced and had been separated from his wife for several months. The reason was that Sergey Brin cheated on his wife and was dating Rosenberg, a female employee of the Google Glass project team. But at the same time, Rosenberg was Hugo's girlfriend. When Hugo resigned from Google, he even planned to take his girlfriend to Hong Kong, China. But what he waited for was the news of the breakup, and Rosenberg did not even tell Hugo the real reason for the breakup. It is conceivable how angry Hugo would be after learning the truth, and he would probably curse Rosenberg in his heart, "smashing his watch a thousand times." In the end, he accepted Lei Jun's invitation to join Xiaomi and be responsible for the global market, probably for the day of "revenge" in the future.

However, Hugo's ex-girlfriend and rival in love didn't feel too good. Larry Page, another founder of Google, was very strict in morals. When he heard about Brin's scandal, he was very unhappy. He was even reluctant to talk to his old partner for a while. Many people in Google were also dissatisfied with Brin. Yes, do you feel happy to have a boss/partner who may poach you at any time? Brin had signed a prenuptial agreement with his wife. According to the terms of the agreement, if he chose to divorce, he would suffer a considerable loss of property. Rosenberg also suffered from depression due to the pressure of public opinion and took leave to recuperate.

Americans, who are always considered avant-garde and open-minded in our impression, are actually very conservative and serious when they encounter emotional entanglements in the workplace. Everyone will despise "sluts and bitches". Of course, I am not going to raise it to a moral level to condemn it. After all, we have no right to interfere in other people's emotional problems, but it is really inappropriate to have an affair and steal someone's love within the company.

After talking about the rough love experiences of so many IT elites, I want to say that in fact, most IT elites have happy love lives, and we are familiar with many model couples. However, under the fast pace and high pressure, there are always some people who make wrong choices in love; others choose to be a free and easy single aristocrat, preferring to be alone rather than with someone who is not suitable for them. Whatever, let's cherish each other's company.
