In the mobile era, users' aesthetic requirements have never decreased, but have become more and more "picky". The "appearance" of an application is directly related to the quality of the product. In the context of increasingly competitive market, only apps with reasonable interactive logic and meticulously polished details can stand out from the crowd and attract users' attention. On January 30, 51CTO held an offline open class themed "The Beauty of Mobile APP Innovation_UI Design". Crossapp Product Manager Wang Zhiwei gave a speech on "Keywords in Design: Matching" at the meeting. Lecturer introduction : Wang Zhiwei, product manager of CrossApp, was still working on the front line of entrepreneurship last year. He is currently in charge of the product work of CrossApp of 9 Seconds Club and has participated in projects in the fields of games, K12 online education, and beauty industry O2O. Wang Zhiwei said that he is a product manager rather than a designer, so he talks about design more from the product perspective. In his opinion, designers who don’t want to create great products are not good designers. People who don’t understand have different views on designers. Business owners, product managers and programmers all have their own opinions. In Wang Zhiwei’s view, the key to design lies in matching. There are two specific aspects: first, the design goal is concrete; second, design is a multi-person collaborative team activity. The important function of design is to put on a coat for concrete things and embellish their connotations. Before designing, you need to understand the business and product definition rules. Design requires understanding and applying these rules, and then creating technically. These are all quantifiable indicators. He gave an example, saying that a designer with less experience would say, "I think this design is pretty good-looking," but he couldn't explain why it was pretty. Whether it was the spacing, layout, or icons, what was highlighted and what was weakened, etc., all of these require design logic. He also mentioned that designers often encounter some unreliable opinions, and at this time, they should try to stick to their own professional opinions. It is necessary to formulate relevant specifications, which are mainly reflected in: reducing communication costs and facilitating subsequent optimization; facilitating collaboration between designers; forming unity and promoting differences. At the end of his speech, he mentioned that we should pay attention to details. We often say that details determine success or failure. This statement requires a prerequisite. Not all details can determine success or failure. The important thing is to learn to master the rhythm and know when is the right time and when is not. In addition, we should learn to use data feedback. For example, when changing the banner, we need to conduct A/B testing to determine who is better and who is worse. Data will not lie. For example, Amazon's "Add to Cart" button has a yellow background, a black border and a green font. It is ugly from the perspective of design aesthetics, but data proves that the button works well. During the user question session, many users asked questions enthusiastically, and Mr. Wang also gave professional answers to their questions. The following questions and answers have been sorted out by the author: Q: Are you doing product development or design? A: This depends on whether you like it or not. Relatively speaking, product managers have more say and bear more pressure. It depends on whether you like this feeling or not. If you are determined to be a product manager, your thinking should be more result-oriented. After asking why, set goals and work hard to achieve them. Q: Why do many ordinary designs achieve great success? A: Whether a product is successful or not is not necessarily determined by design. Without business logic, technology and operational support, it will not be successful. In many cases, design is only one part of the entire product process. Q: How to judge whether a design is good or bad? A: If it looks cool but does not meet business requirements, it will be passed. I believe that professionals should do professional things, and as long as they move in the right direction, they can be updated and improved through product iterations in the future. |
