What does a foldable iPhone look like? iPhone X Fold concept

With the influx of foldable Android smartphones from companies like Samsung and Huawei, some designers have begun trying to imagine what a foldable iPhone would look like. Currently, there is a new concept for the "iPhone X Fold" that has us feasting our eyes.

The concept was designed by graphic designer Antonio De Rosa. It is based on a design similar to the iPhone X, which can be completely folded into two side-by-side iPhones, and opened to form a smaller iPad.

In the concept rendering, the screen size is 6.6 inches when folded and 8.3 inches when fully unfolded. The display is a "super retina" that is even more powerful than Apple's retina screen, with 514 pixels per inch.

The designers’ imagination also describes how iOS will adapt to the foldable iPhone. As you can see, the home screen adds some widgets on the right side of the display when folded, providing quick access to music, weather, Siri, and more.

Apple has several patents related to foldable smartphones. Last month, an Apple patent application detailed how manufacturers can prevent damage to the screen when it is repeatedly folded and unfolded. At the same time, a supply chain report showed that Samsung will supply foldable displays to Apple. Apple's glass supplier Corning is also already developing glass products that can be folded repeatedly.

What do you think of this concept? Although the foldable iPhone is still far away from us, the development of flexible screen technology determines that "foldable" will be one of the important stages. Apple may join the camp of foldable screen mobile phones, or it may wait for more mature flexible screens to come out and apply them to higher-level mobile smart terminals. Of course, these do not hinder people's expectations and attention to the foldable iPhone.
