Alipay launches “Pay Later” feature: buy first and pay the next day

Recently, Alipay quietly launched the "Pay Later" function . When the user's payment channel balance is insufficient and the payment cannot be completed, the user can use "Pay Later" to make advance payment first.

It is understood that "Pay Later" is a benefit of Sesame Credit, which can only be enjoyed by users with a Sesame score equal to or higher than 700 points , and only one Pay Later account can be opened under one ID card information.

According to the official introduction, the usage scenario of Pay Later is when the user uses Alipay to scan or pay with a code, all payment channels are unavailable and manual selection of each bank card fails to successfully pay.

The relevant agreement shows that when users use the "later payment" function, the guarantee agency will advance the funds to the merchant. The guarantee agencies include Shangcheng Financing Guarantee Company under Ant Group.

The activation interface shows that each person can use it 5 times, each time within 200 yuan. The number of times can be restored after payment, and there is no fee throughout the process.

It is worth mentioning that if the customer does not actively complete the payment afterwards, the Huabei or Jiebei credit limit will not be deducted to form a loan bill.

Alipay customer service said that late payment will not be included in the central bank's credit report, but it will affect the Sesame Credit score. If the user still fails to repay within 7 days and the system fails to deduct the payment, it will affect the user's Sesame Credit score, the use of credit services, and Huabei, Jiebei and other services may be affected accordingly.
