Microsoft reminds users: Cortana on iOS and Android will be discontinued at the end of this month

The Cortana app for mobile is about to be retired. The Cortana app for iOS and Android will be retired on March 31, 2021, so Microsoft has sent a reminder to users who still use the app. The banner reminder reads: "On March 31, 2021, Cortana for mobile will be retired."

In a Microsoft support document, Microsoft wrote:

• As we announced in July, we’re ending support for the Cortana app on Android and iOS as Cortana continues to evolve as a productivity assistant.
• Starting March 31, 2021, the Cortana content you create, such as reminders and lists, will no longer work in the Cortana mobile app, but will still be accessible through Cortana in Windows. In addition, Cortana reminders, lists, and tasks will automatically sync to the Microsoft To Do app, which you can download to your phone for free.
• After March 31, 2021, the Cortana mobile app on phones will no longer be supported.

Microsoft has been pivoting Cortana toward productivity, like helping people get things done through Microsoft 365. When Microsoft announced that it was ending the Cortana app on iOS and Android, the company also announced the end of support for Cortana on the Harman Kardon Invoke speaker.
