Following the desktop update, Microsoft Edge 93 for Android was released today. Surprisingly, Edge with a unified codebase is not yet available for most users on the Play Store. If you are running Edge 92, visit the Play Store and check for updates, or update to the new version using the APK. The Edge browser for Android has been stuck in version 46 for a long time. It is based on an old version of Chromium and lacks new features, updates, and performance. Previously, the Edge version for PC was 93, while the Android version based on Chromium was 77. To achieve feature parity between desktop and mobile platforms, Microsoft turned to using the same code to develop Microsoft Edge on mobile. This brings new features and improvements to Android and iOS in a shorter time. Although anyone can install the latest version by downloading the APK, most people prefer to update from the Play Store for security reasons. Microsoft Edge for Windows and Mac recently rolled out improvements to tab groups and vertical tab mode. Everyone using Edge can now organize tabs, and the feature is enabled by default. If you use vertical tabs, Edge now allows you to hide the title bar to get more screen space. To get Edge 93, visit the Play Store or download the APK. |
