Apple introduces peer group benchmarking tool in App Analytics: compare apps with similar apps

On March 2, Apple introduced a peer group benchmarks tool in App Analysis for developers on Wednesday. Developers will be able to compare the performance of their applications with similar applications on the App Store.

The official introduction of the tool is as follows:

App Analytics in App Store Connect is a useful tool that provides rich features to help you understand and improve your app’s performance in the App Store. With metrics related to acquisition, usage, and monetization strategies, you can use App Analytics to monitor results at every stage of the customer lifecycle, from awareness to conversion to retention.

Starting today, you can put your app’s performance in context with peer group benchmarks, which compare your app’s performance to similar apps on the App Store. Now you’ll have more insights and can more effectively identify growth opportunities for your business.

Peer group benchmarks provide unique and practical new insights throughout the customer journey, helping you more accurately understand where your app performs well and find ways to improve. Apps are grouped into peer groups based on their App Store category, business model, and download volume to ensure the relevance of comparative data. In addition, peer group benchmarks use industry-leading differential privacy technology to provide relevant and actionable insights while ensuring the privacy of individual app performance.

See new benchmarks, then use other tools in App Store Connect to improve conversions, revenue, crash rates, and retention. You can test different elements on your product page to find what resonates most with users, create additional product page versions to highlight specific features or content, get feedback on beta apps, offer in-app campaigns to encourage engagement, and more.
