As usual, Google releases security updates for Android on the first Monday of every month. Unlike in the past, this month Google not only fixed multiple security issues, but also solved many non-security issues on Pixel devices. Speaking of Pixel devices, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have come to the end of their system updates three years after their launch. The new update in November 2021 is only for Pixel 3a (launched in May 2019) and later devices.
As for what's fixed, unfortunately, the widely reported screen flickering issues on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are not among them, but Google has issued a statement saying that these fixes will arrive with the December update. Sadly, this means another month of waiting for new Pixel 6/6 Pro owners. The fixes for Pixel devices include: ● Issue that blocked notification sounds in certain situations ● Audio quality in certain situations ● Improve wireless charging ● Improve the stability of third-party applications ● Better auto-brightness response in certain lighting conditions ● Improved overview screen transition animation performance under certain conditions ● Improved picture-in-picture media playback in certain apps ● Improved connection stability ● Fixed the issue where the application icon was not displayed correctly after installation ● Fixed the way the keyboard was displayed over apps in some cases ● Fixed UI elements being hidden |
