People have a deep affection for pandas. As China's national treasure, pandas also serve as a symbol of friendship and diplomacy between China and other countries. Citizens of many countries around the world are fans of our national treasure, and our country has leased pandas to zoos in countries that meet the required standards for their care.

However, a few years ago, you probably heard the news that Malaysia wanted to return the pandas it had leased. This surprised everyone, because our country has high standards and requirements for exporting pandas. Malaysia had no choice but to apply for a return because it could not afford the pandas' food expenses.

Recently, due to the impact of the health crisis in this country, zoos have closed and lost the support of many visitors. Their meager income is struggling to cover the food expenses of the pandas "Tian Tian" and "Yang Guang" living abroad. It's very possible that these two pandas will be returned to their country. If their contracts are renewed, the zoo would be doing a really good job.

It's worth noting that these two pandas living abroad are fed bamboo imported from the Netherlands, costing £70,000 a year. The foreigners' love for these pandas shows they're incredibly generous with their spending. Moreover, it's said that these two pandas have experienced some very interesting things abroad; in the seven years they've lived overseas since 2013, there have been six reports of them faking pregnancies.

During this period, every report of a panda's pregnancy brought great joy to many people abroad. Many devoted panda fans overseas eagerly awaited the news at the zoo every day. However, it always seemed to be a fake pregnancy, a ploy to get more treats. Now, due to the health crisis, the zoo has already lost over £2 million, and the pandas face the risk of being returned.

Besides foreign countries, reports indicate that Canada may also return the pandas to China two years earlier than planned, as they simply cannot afford to keep them. However, Chinese netizens were overjoyed upon hearing this news. At least these pandas will be well-fed back in their home country. Foreign media, however, were unhappy: "If you can't afford to keep them, don't give them to us!" It's worth noting that many foreign countries have applied to rent pandas from China multiple times, but have failed to meet various requirements and have even resorted to making panda-shaped replicas of their own animals in frustration.
